Hi Nick,
yes all ready.
Going to try and squeeze in another test and tune next week.
I have the 1/8 mile tranny back in now, and feel I have the tune up close enough(we'll see).

Here's what the 1/8 mile tranny sounds like.

Gee I hope there is a change in the weather by then, that is a stoinker in a long black race suit.(two layer wool)
Last year we had 40 up here on the Goldy and it was less than 15...(prob less than 10 wind chill at Portland)

Just got bck from the testa-matune to make sure everything is working for Portland.
Three runs.
Ran it to the 8400 limiter which was right on the half track MPH light....then coast the rest of the way.
Starting even richer this time, it went:

7.042@96.73 with a 1.492 short time. (coast to a 11.83@88.69 after half track)(.012" richer than Warwick...ie six jet sizes richer)
6.971@97.57 with 1.484 sixty. (coast to 11.75@87.74) slightly leaner pill by 0.002"
7.067@97.11 with a 1.52 sixty...way out of shape off the line
(open high speed 1/8 turn earlier(about 2psi sooner)),
and in second gear had to lift just a bit to stop the back end sliding out.(coast to 11.92@86.74).

Each run I made slight tune changes,
and last run felt excellent even though it was a very untidy run.
The MPH on the last one showed that it was on song to recover so well.
The reason it went crooked was due to a burnout that went side ways and had to abort the tyre warming.

Thanks to Stanley for coming out after work on short notice to help.

good to see all is like clock work for you as always.
but you can relax the fat controller(mankini) won't be aloud to come play in portland.and i don't think we will be able to either.not enough hour's in the day's left to complete the junka.
but we might come down to watch,we will have to wait and see.

Good night last night Davo. It was funny to here the the scream of the volksy engine to half track, hit the llimiter and coast the the other half.
Best was still smoking the V8 boys in a little volksy while coasting half the way.

Also....what a differance in T&Ts. A few weeks ago 200 plus cars 1 1/2 hours between runs.
Last night maybe 40 cars and 3 runs in an 1 1/2 hours.

Here is a graph of the rpm for the out of shape run.

The GREEN arrow is launch rpm and you can see it drops to about 6700 on the clutch.

The BLUE is the rpm in first gear, slightly short shift when it went to the right.

The PURPLE line shows the second gear spike and the obvious short shift/back-off when it went wayward.

The PINK is third gear right up to 8400,

and the RED is the 4th gear peak at the 8400 rev limiter.

Turns out the 6.971 @ 97.57mph is the quickest it has gone to half track.

The 11.006 @ 121.46 was only 6.98 @ 97.32 (last year),

Walace Racing Converter says 10.98 and 121mph.

http://www.wallaceracing.com/8th-quarter.php

All my maintenance is done for Portland now.
One tappet was .001" loose, and filter was clean.
So car is all set.
My entry is in.

Just finishing prep on tow and trailer.

AWESOME numbers, and love that RPM graph you have there DB... that Innovate data logging stuff is so cool.

Curious though since I'm tryin to learn how to interpret these logs better, what do you make of the brief drop just below 8k in 4th ??? Does the AF graph do anything funky there, or is it maybe just something hokey in the RPM log ???

Hi Dave,
yeah, just some funky log interference I think.
Car was running sweet.
Logging the A/F ratio has always been trouble though.

Yeah, OK - I'd forgotten about your AF logging issue, so if the car feels sweet guess it must just be a logging glitch.

Starting to think there's obviously some hidden tricks to getting the logs stable - my RPM log still cuts out at 5k - just another thing on my list to get fixed/finished !!!
