i ditched the mig today and brought out the old stick, still cant see how u managed that weld dave i can get a really nice bead going but nothing as flat and true as yours.... maybe iv gotten too lazy with using
my mig and need to practice with the old stuff again
on another note, hows that new rear setup going? is that a kombi swing arm? ready for warwick or are you going to run the old setup in the mean time?
also have u got any leads on machined alloy velocity stacks for 48 idf's? all i can find is the standard tin ones, which was hard enough to find in 4
inch tall.... maybe i just dont know where to look, but im after the nice spun alloy ones that bolt up with 2 nuts each. might have to notch the top
aswell, as the idf's are alot closer together than ida.
considering the amount u experiment u may have a set in your collection u wish to 'off-load'....
cheers adam

Even happier today,
got it wired in, and took its frst cuts.
Advertised rpm range is 70 up to 4200, but it actually goes down to 40rpm and upto 5200 with the digital speed controller...awesome.

Flowed the fuel system today using the mill to drive the mechanical pump.
Nozzles go into a 3 litre bottle, and noting the fuel pressures at various rpms:

This is the barrel valve that varies the fuel flow at part throttle.
And this is the "high speed" which bleeds off fuel at high rpm after the power peak is reached.
The guage is so I can note the pressures,
and the hose is so I can observe the point at which it opens.
It works kind of like a diafragm regulator to limit system pressure once the engine needs no extra fuel .
