Glad to hear it, Hellbus!
Went to visit the Kombi at the workshop today, inards of the gearbox not as bad as I thought. Actually they look like new! All it needs is new
bearings and Its back on the road. Pige blew a oil switch, I now have two new german ones for her. $10 each! bargain! I actually let Jodie take her to
work today, man was it a nervous day waiting for her to come home. I was sitting out on the front deck when she came up the road. Boy do I love that
car, I couldn't help smiling when I saw her!

Yay we got Fleurs new Beetle today. She is as happy as. I got her a present too. I had new German running boards which I had hidden in the shed, and
when we got home I gave them to her and she was even more stoked.
I have spent the last three hours fitting them. Sounds like a long time, but I had a titanium plate but in my back less than 6 weeks ago!

Two times a week to the physio. Knocking them dead with my recovery time.
I feel pretty good about being back to normal in 6 months. The Dr said I will be able to surf, ski, whatever. I will have a normal life and the plate
will not affect me greatly.
I am advised however not to do motorcross without a backbrace. I don't motorcross anyway so.....

Pete you always gain talents...the possibilities are endless
Damn I've just spent ages scanning the puter cos it's doing strange things since I've not been using it....like keys getting stuff and not tying
when I want it to ....and shift key not working.....AND my clock is always out of syn now :alien
Hmmmm....the things that go strong when your life changes
Eddie took me to see Joe Cocker on Saturday night at a winery near here.....it was such a good night...I made a fool of myself (as usual) I couldn't
stop dancing ....the only thing missing was the joint :party
Oh well I was high enough :rudolf
Rob pige does look so shiny in that pic....she is such a pretty young girl....Do you have a Chrissy present for her?

Yeah I have seen them I had one on a truck I drove once. They were all the rage in the 50's.
Somehow I don't think it would be a good look for Pige. I like the nice ivory paint better, I am gunna give it a few extra coats of clear though.
If it were a hot rod I spose it would look in place but Ol Pige is just a de luxe 56 Beetle. I have been told that a good paint to use is a single
stage urethane. Got any suggestions?
The colour I used on the steering colomn is Ivory but the shade is quite light. I have seen spies hecker Ivory's and they are a darker shade.
Hellbus. Thers nothing better than the dash of an EH!

Better hit the bed....Eddie is working back....seems like the doctors are trying to get through their surgical cases before the holidays and they are
still operating...well that's my theory about why they are still doing elective ops at this hour....some are long cases. Eddie was meant to finish at
9pm...I'll have to be silent when I get up in the morn and he promises to do the same coming in

Two pack on a steering wheel will work good too. I know a few guys have restored their own steering wheels using aryldite (fix chips & cracks) and two
pack paint.
