more engine progress with the WPVW turbo oval . engine sealed and turbo pipes fitted , the 1700cc injectors have been serviced , more fuel and oil fittings arrive , injectors installed and new stainless steel braided fuel hoses manufactured

You have used all the best stuff for that rebuild.The intake manifolds look like good castings-there is enough meat around the injector castings to weld in those ally pockets like I have used.

the WPVW turbo oval is pushed from the race shed , taken off its wheel dollys and the first job is to upgrade the fuel supply to the engine .
The original fuel tank is removed and a polished alloy fuel cell fitted in its place with all new -12 hoses

I didnt get to the dyno yesterday as I decided to fit an alternator to my oval and also fit additional braided hoses to the fuel return line and breather . The rest of the evening was spent finishing Chris Boltons' turbo engine for his bug . I left the shop at 2-05am this morning with his engine ready to be installed today

Both my turbo oval and Chris Boltons turbo bug will be on the dyno this afternoon

I took the WPVW turbo oval to the dyno this afternoon . Could only put 18psi boost into the 2827ml type-4 engine as the 1700cc injectors max-out .

At 18psi the engine made 443bhp @ the wheels and a massive 1750lbs tractive effort .

attached is a dyno sheet of 430bhp and 1700lbs of tractive effort on 16psi boost from a previous run

all good with the oval and ready for Warwick

I was seriously planning to run up to 28psi boost , which should show figures around 550+bhp . I will change the injectors and ignition system down the track and do some more testing . Not planning on upgrading the tranny after Warwick though , it has been fairly reliable since fitting the 3.44 ring & pinion
