love to see you do that with a stock casting.
but seriously. what capacity and revs are you aiming at with such a big port?

You COULD use a stock casting if you like welding, hehe.
If you want n/a power, and want strength and reliability, it makes sense to get an aftermarket casting.
The port is actually no bigger than before (old heads),
so power peak around 8000 on 2700cc.
...but half thinking of using my old 90mm crank (Bertha) to bring the capacity up to 2965cc,(as my supercharged engine was).

The clutch slid in low gear for about a car length, so 60 foot was a slug at 1.52,(best is 1.44),
but other than that it was a clean run.
8375rpm thru the finish.
7500 launch and 8000 shift.
Car weighs about 1775lbs.(806kg)
ANDRA steward sent me home after that one...bummer.

Not to mention they waited until we got to the front then showed the red card.
But what a way to go. Evicted for going too fast in a volksy....well done Davo.....
Reminded me of a time getting kicked out of a strip clup for touching what I shouldn't have....but that's another story.

Just for reference,
the tune-up was exactly the same as dynoed last September,
and as per the runs I had at VW Warwick last year,
when it had 220.4 hp at the wheels.
The car weighed 1785 lbs at Warwick,(811kg with me in the seat),
and I have since replaced the brakes,
to remove the heavy late type 3 calipers,
so now have beetle calipers, and made some new 7075 aluminium brackets.
Guess about 5kg saving.
I also went for some ACE 75 synthetic oil for the gearbox,(was using 80W90 before).
and went for ACE 30 for the engine.(was using ACE40).
Engine oil pressure was excellent,
and shift quality was noticably better!!

Also fixed the broken wheely bars, but that is nothing major,
just used cromo tube instead of the original pool fence tube.
Old brakes used these calipers and some "machined out" front rotors (instead of the 914 ones in these pics).
NEW STUFF:

The off set on the caliper bracket enabled me to machine the back entirely off the hub,
to allow me to move the wheels inboard about 22mm.
