On the news they reckoned that someone had put a splitpin or something in the wrong way, allowing the wheel to fall off:P
Apparently they then checked all the other F111's & found 3 others! Anyone putting their hands up?

No probs Rob, glad they made it there.

And what Stan forgot to say is that Wardo (the guy whose Falcon was hit by the tire) is the ex Co of one of the F1-11 Squadrons :)
Poetic justice I say :D

BTW..good to hear about the type 3 Zac. They're a lot different to drive than a beetle. A little bit more stable at higher speeds.

Rob...just want you to know I'm over the lowering thing for pige....lets turbo her instead....

Penguin....can you bring in the rear of the firewall kit you have.

cheers everyone

100mph? What was the ride like? Floaty at all? Was the motor really screamin' or just goin' hard?

Hey I got the garage door covered on the weekend and I had an RDO today, so spent the day doing undercoat painting of some bits and pieces. So finally the garage is at lock up stage. I spent this evening putting up posters and stuff, and it feels like home now. :)

steering is fairly floaty...and by fairly i mean hold on with two hands.

and the motor was going hard.....but not quite at guts out point..i'd guess maybe another 10-20mph if there was less traffic.

tyres were pumped up at 34psi. and could also probably run a little better with premium petrol (instead of unleaded with the extra shit you pur in..)

What the hell
Why don't we set up a nitrous oxide system as well. Running through TWIN turbos and run her on avgas or Shell A methanol! Of course I will have to use Kenworth con rods to handle the power! And just for fun I will set up one of those exhaust afterburners, so I can stirr up the hot rod crowd. What do ya think!

Okay Stan
havethe firewall kit, but to my eyes (and 'ouch' hand) it feels like and looks like the bugger who I bought the care from has cut a bit off it. I think we can get the general measurements from the remains though. There are some edges that obviously have not been cut at all on either side of the bit that seems to be missing.
Shall have it at work Thursday. You up for lunch at the pool?

BOO everyone

I'm still on the planet :tu:

I am hearing a lot of talk lately about Valla...hands up who's going

OK...Mandie and Penguin so far

Rob are you going down...I know you hate crowds...but thought you'd get a buzz out of the rides there...AND showing pige off

I'd love to be going but still waiting on permanency at work...no paid leave  ARGH

Getting home late and not logging on to the computer except to pay bills and all that horrible stuff...sitting at a computer for hours n hours n hours every day is getting to me AND I don't have internet access, only intranet type stuff BORING

Marriage is all good but husband is working back tonight so here's my chance to catch up...no wedding pics yet cos sons girlfriend who took the photo is being extra particular to get them right (it all the digital enhancing she has to do on me:dork: )

Bel went on a club cruise last Sunday for Christmas in July which was so cool....first cruise in ages it seems...and I forgot the camera cos we slept in and raced out the door

I'm giving up social secretary role in the club as I just don't have time like I used to to organise things...AND will be very careful not to have a red wine while the voting is going on at this years AGM but there are a couple of people keen to do it :party

Mandie is the Splittie finished....are you driving everywhere...are you taking it up to Valla...you must be

Zac any pics of the Type 3 ...and you are still on about lowering pige luv it ...how long has it been now?

Pete....the door to the shed...wahoo!! Almost complete

Well I'm off again.....have fun with what ever you're planning to do

p.s. we are still looking for a kombi camper .... anyone? :tu:

I went over to a friends place tonight and picked up a heap of boxes of tools. I have won some shelves off ebay and pick them up Saturday. I will be open for business soon and start 'creating' some wicked machines. Yeah?

I did some measuring tonight, and I will easily and comfotably fit my EH, the Bus, the Beetle, our two motorbikes, a workbench, a beerfridge, heaps of shelves and still have room to work on a car in pieces or park two more complete cars. I measured that I could actually fit 16 beetles if I crammed them in.

Plan is to do some specialist work on cars, and brew beer.

Speaking of brewing beer, I bottled another brew tonight. 30 bottles of stout brewed and bottled at a total cost of about $17.
