OK boyz :P
Mmmmmm yes I can see some good times ahead :party
Went to the government book shop during lunch and got a couple of cool books on out of the way camping places in Victoria...plus Lonely Planets
Outback Australia.....goodness I hope we get the Trakka out of the drive
Not sure if I'll havbe time to wash it before we head off somewhere on the weekend to test it out... the inside is as clean as, only some mold around
the windows n things cos it's been sitting for 2 1/2 years unused. Michael has serviced it and putting light truck tyres on it for me so I can hit
dirt WAHOOOOOOO
Yes Penguin I will have to get to some far away events now ... no excuse now .... AND have been made permanent with the bank FINALLY .... I ended up
saying that I wasn't helping out anymore in other areas until I was .... damn when ever review time came up I was in an area where they hadn't had
me for a month to assess my ability ... crazy system the way they do things ...hmmm could I have worded that better
BUT up side is now I get paid leave and all the rest...AND bonus shares in 12mths time ...that's if we haven't decided to go walkabout in the van
before then

Don't worry Peter..I just finished reading your builup. Have you added the scoop to the radiator yet.
Thanks for the pic of the rear mount. Are they solid mounts or do the use existing suby rubber mounts?

With the COR sump you have to use 'round' Suby mounts, not 'square' ones. Don't worry, a Subaru specialist wrecker will know what you are after.
My engine had square ones and I had to get a pair of second hand round ones at $50 to fit with the conversion gear.
I have some pretty cool (pun intended) plans with the scoop. I have sheetmetal fabrication facilities at work, so will come up with a good plan. It is
all about positive air pressure. The radiator is fine, it is COR modified VL Commodore

by modification do you mean new top tank to run inlet and outlet up through the top. Also like your header tank. Actually the whole setup looks good
especially the mounting of the ecu.

Hey Jenz
Bloody good to hear from ya! I was in the campervan & Motorhome club for a while and they put out a free camp guide for highway one. It used to be
about $20. It listed all the free camps, dump points and various other stuff. I have free camped on with the bike for 25 years all round australia and
had no trouble in all that time. I also use them when I take the kids away in the Kombi. You meet a lot of euro travelers in these places and their
stories are wonderful. I have had a few invites to stay at their places if I make it to their country as well.

I missed it, was in Cairns that day after an exercise in townsville the week before. Now it looks like I won't make Warwick due to an exercise in
Darwin and Tindal!

Okay,
not going to Warwick now too much work now that my FSGT has gone to the
middle east. Will be in Katherine/darwin that weekend instead.
On a brighter note, have decided to get my driveway finished , will get a
contractor in to finish it for me and spray seal the bast**d!

Thor and I have made the executive desicion on saturday we won't be going due to a string of weird events as dissapointed as Javan may be... we AINT goin, I will be on my child free holidays, must make the most of my time and maximise my social 'bender' opportunity.
But we ARE going to the drive in (assuming I can get this kombi sorted), come to the drive in pengy if your not away/tired/other commitments/covered
in driveway goop. |

No gag, just me being whingy and whiney.... got a lot on for the next few months (till both my troops return home from the mid east and I get a new
junior officer) so I am practicing being a lazy little shite......
on the other note, doesn't look like i canmake the drive in either as Osama goes to Conti engines on Saturday morning to have his engine looked at
while I am away in the NT. So no transport for me.

snag, don't have time to finish the job till next week *sigh*, should just join some dodgey holden club instead, seem to be spending more time in the
barina than the dubs )
btw nice ride jen |

Hi all!!
I ran into Mandie and Steve at the clubs AGM last night...great to see them again
AND I saw the Splittie for the first time..embarrassed to say....it looks SO NICE!!! Pity it was dark outside and raining but it did look
wonderful...can't wait to see it in the daylight
AND I found out who YOU are Stanley!!!! lol
I thought you were a newbie who invited themselves in...I'd missed the transformation in my absence
Hmmmm I resigned as club social secretary but some how volunteer to do Merchandising seeing no one was putting their hand up...Eddie arrived after
work and in our half time break to be told the news by others....he said it's lucky he loves me ...I will have to be extra nice for a while
