did some last minute check's on saturday before putting the heads on for the last time, all was shit.
bottom end is fine but the valve seats have fallen back into the head about .4 mm on 3 out of 4 seats .yeh more shit to do that we don't have time for.
so yet again there will be a made rush to the finish.
so on saturday we had nothing to do.three blokes bored.
so we pimped out the trailer.and tow vehicle.
trailer had its old shitty steel bent gaurds removed.new black plastic ones were fitted.new trailer hitch with brake master so we did a brake conversion at the same time .made an ali storage box for the front so that we are not caring fuel in the car anymore,i was never to happy about smoking with a 100ltrs in the back, but it never stoped me either.
new lights and wiring front to back.
and some custom made extractors for the the mighty pathfinder with a sports system.
not to forget when we finished at 2 am in the morning, no trailer is complete without some racing stickers.

nah the heads should be ok.i guess we will find out.fingers crossed.
the car has never realy gotten hot,the highest it has seen head temps wise was 340 f,which i think is about norm.from what i have been told.the head temps usually sit around 220 to 260 f .the main probelm with the heads i think was the guy porting them,i don't think he know's when enough is enough.
as for the trailer they were out of pink, but the did have madjenta in stock.lol
i will not post any pic's of the trailer i will keep you all wondering .it is loverly.

Mate looked sensational and was a shame to make the final of the top 8 only to have to pull out with some minor engine drama's.

Had a great weekend with the Westside boys and a big thanks from Troy and myself for helping out whenever the neeed arose.

Cheers :tu:

performance of the car as in how it takes of and drives. yes.
performance of the engine was good enough.
we had expected some small issues may arise but we were hoping for it to atleast make it until the end.
we didn't get to use all the beans that we have had but i think i will now have a bit of time to sort the heads out and have a good look over the carbies.
it was a good fun weekend, but it is a long way to drive to then try and sort out engine issues.but to make the finall with an uncomplete package was awsome.
i will be taking my time to get her ready for the next trip out.

what a blast of a weekend.

go the junka.
i think we might even doll her up abit after seeing pete's loverly prep'd car.how good does it look.

i will be going through the shop for a big clean up,so i will have some stuff to sell so that we can fix up the junka.
i have a turbo or two,a couple super chargers and lot's of other little goodies.look out for it in the parts for sale section,it will be called the save westi's junka sale.

while it's apart i might also modifiy the block to go full roller.we will have to see how the aussy dollar goes as i have rego due and not alot of mulla to spend.

anyhow i will keep you all posted.

Yeah I am keen to go to Portland (whether it be with Rod's rebuilt 1916 that siezed at warwick, or my turbo engine (not sure if that will be ready due to $$))....I seriously think us "northerners" need to look into a car carrier as I'd love to go but don't think I could take so long off work to do the drive and pull a trailer. I guess there is a bit of time to sort that out, but these things come around quickly!

mmmm Portland, will be here before you know it.

Brad get that JUNKA off the trailer and start getting those heads sorted Westi.

Just to hijack....I wonder how much a car carrier would be, ie. how many cars to make it viable.???

I'd be in if the price was right...

mmm car carrier does sound tempting plus I also couldn't get that much time off or afford the $$ to drive down and back plus compete and accomodation.

Westi you going to go down the route that Henry was talking about with retainers??

def do anything to come to Portland :D

as craig said not long ago the format has changed for the w.e next year..
the dubs will be running against a normal drag lineup aka all the v8 guys,
plus a street drag meet on the Friday night..

and suprising as it may seem alot of the local guys in toranas etc pushing
just into the 6's are shitting themselves at the possibility of getting their
asses handed to them by a bug.
