Build time

Firstly , thanks for the support and kind words . Secondly , I have to say sorry to Frosty for the delay with the engine as my health has been down for the past 5-6 weeks , however I am on the mend and am about to start the engine build . I will start posting some images and engine build spec's as I progress over the next couple of weeks . I will take you all through everything from the individual components all the way to the dyno tuning .
I have had Dave Butler flow the heads and I can now start to look into the camshaft options I have here . Owen also has a new high-tec engine calculator program for us to use . This program will let us know how much power the engine will make before it is actually built , all he has to do is fill in the data and it will calculate the final power and torque figures . I am all new to this technology , however I will see how close it will be when the engine is tuned . The program is very intense and all of the inputs into it have to be very accurate . We will also be experimenting with different intake runner lengths as well as exhaust header length , stinger sizes and some other funky stuff , ROD .

For the money I think its pretty decent, but without a flow bench etc its not a lot of use apart from play/education.

Hi There, It has been a long time since the last post with heaps happening.
The engine has now been dyno'd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwfYAfZLM9o  and I have also made some big changes in the rear of the car, basically cut out all the lower tube and replaced it.
Dave Butler has built me a bullet proof box and all going well the wheelie bars will be fitted over xmas with the plans for a TNT at willowbank round the second/third week of January in preparation for the VWMA Sydney Showdown in Feb.
I will post a couple of photo's in the next week.
Yew... not long now!!!!
Thanks
Frosty

Well done frosty . Seems like a pretty good first outing . Your times are very consistant and the engine sounds sweet and the car looks to be tracking straight , so in the end I congratulate you on a sucessful debut . Please let me know what the new style of clutch feels and works like as it seems a little aggressive maybe . Can you let me know what the shift light is set at and what you upper limit is . The light seems to come on really quick and may have to be adjusted for next time . When will you get a chance to run it again and will you make the Sydney meeting in Feb , ROD.

Hey Rod, firstly "holly Shit it feels great to fun fast" shift light is set at 7000 and upper limit is 8000, as it was the first time out i thought these were a good starting point. I realise now that launching at 7000 was too high and wheelie bars a little too low. I'm now planning another TNT before sydney, just going to wait for a cooler day as it was a scorcher to debut it in.
thanks

Hi Jason , I would say to leave the upper limit at 8000 at the moment . If you are hitting the limiter all of the time I would lift it up by another 4-500 as the engine should be good for 8500 rpm's at least . I would lift up your shift light to about 7500 to see how it all goes . In my old turbo car I eventually had the shift light set at 7400 as by the time I shifted , the engine was already @ 9200 . This was either me being too slow on the gear change , or the engine reving so quick . You will eventually fine a sweet spot that you can get the most out of the engine without being on the limiter . The car looks good and is picking the wheels up on the 2nd gear change so it will only get quicker as you settle into it , good luck and I look forward to seeing it in Sydney , Rod .
