Tinning the engine bay...
You need to get yourself the original 911 tin and bolt it to the motor. This will remove all the wierd angles, nooks and crannies around the engine.
From here, take measurements of the existing gaps and use your imagination to draw some rough sheetmetal designs which will follow the contours of the
body and has tabs for fixing to the body.( break the sheets into sections...ie left, right ,right rear and left rear for ease of installation.)Redraw
all diagrams and double check the measurements, keeping in mind you will need a uniform 1.5cm gap between the engine tin and the body tin. Go to a
sheet metal worker, get them made, test in car and drill mounting holes, ogle over your ingenuity(LOL), remove them again, powder coat and then refix
them. From here, you should be left with a 1.5cm gap around the motor... simply buy a late bay engine bay seal and fit( if it is too short, buy
another).. hey presto.... seems tedoius... but a job done properly is done ONCE.

Good advice Dyno, I was thinking along the same lines. That was until I got a price for a 2nd hand piece of rear tin!! $250 large ouch. Think that
this is still the best way to go and I will be keeping my eyes out for a piece of tin at a better price.
To be honest the engine doesnt seem to heat at all. Temp is pretty constant at 80.C
Only hassle is fumes getting sucked in when the heaters are on and the car is stationary in traffic. On the move is no worry.

What better way to spend a nice Queens Burday monday than take ya VW out for a spin in this unseasonally warm Melb winter. Headed off to one of my fav
spots not far from my joint and took a few update shots of the Karmann. Trying to get a bit techie with the background and stuff too.
Enjoy

New Front Seats.
Scored some really nice front seats for my T34 a couple of weeks ago. And spent most of yesterday fitting them.
These are a pair of Scat Procar seats. Fully stitched in black vinyl. Look like they belong in there. And most of all they are way way way more
comfortable than the old Datsun (something) seats that were originally fitted. And I can now get into the rear seat. Well a hobbit could, cause its a
bit tight for a full size adult.
Heres a few pics

Fitted the correct Front Bumper tonight
After a big search and a lead discovered by good mate at the Pomona Swap Meet, then a trip half way around the world I finnally have the correct T34
Front Bumper fitted to my Ghia. It had a slightly modded Type 3 bumper previously and I was never really happy with it. Most people didnt know the
diff but I did.
So heres a couple of pics. Almost ready for the DOVW. Just a few little things to do and a real good clean and polish. I am a happy man. (for now
:P)
If any ones needs a Type 3 front bumper let me know.

Hi Brad the overiders are T34 ones. They are different shape to all other VW ones. I got these on ebay about 8 months ago. The bumpers on these are 3
piece jobs. Same as a T1 Karmann. The overiders cover the joins so I think that overiders were a standard thing not an option for Karmanns.
What I do know is that they are all hard to find bits in good shape. Half the fun is the hunt I spose.

'complete' too.
Can't wait to see this again at DOTV.... there's been some changes to it since the Dyno Day!

Ege the throttle set up is all good now. Getting that last 10hp at wide open now. Whoo hoo. Felt like a different car when I sorted this out a week
ago.
JNR356, you can tweak on my 2.4 anytime mate, . But I think that bigger brakes might be the next major upgrade before any more power. She's running
pretty sweet now. Just fitted the last component of the Crane Ignition system tonight. A big arse Crane coil pack. So sparks no issue at all.
