Hey 72 fasty........The queens birthday long weekend and days after was all time, some of the best in memory.
We were a bit north at D.I. point.
Went up there on the friday night and took the tinnie up for a fish.
Went out for a fish on the saturday morning off the headland got some nice pearlies too easy up there I must say.
The swell grew on sat arvy and surfed the open beach at 3-4 foot.
By sunday it was up to 5-6 foot and nice and then monday ......well what can I say....7-8+ tooo big for open beach close outs but still had the tinnie
to go over rainbow side.
Long stoy short....crazy tinnie ride to the point but was 6 foot plus 300m noncloseout RHer from out back point to the beach or untill your legs gave
up from fatigue of it all.
Not crowded at all right place right time.....was insurfing life mag a few issues ago.
That swell hung round for about a week was insane everywhere in se QLD bla bla bla.
"-Hannovermetalmadness-"(Infectious desease with no known cure).

Best spot ever = old local, Oyster Creek just north of Valla (but that was ten years ago so who knows what its like now...they probably filled it in
and built a supermarket there or something)
Here in WA, Gas Bay near Margaret River is quite nice for a right hander.

Oyster Creek would be going off today.
I just back in from an hours surf at Black Rock (between Valla and Nambucca) and it was awesome. First surf in a long while so a bit of shoulder
fatigue cut the session short.
Can't wait for the new stick to arrive.

Black Rock is generally only surfed by locals and the occasional camper in the caravan park. Best swell in ages and there was about 8 of us in
total.
Not many surf the river mouth nowadays. Two locals were attacked there about 4-5 years ago by what was believed to be a bull shark. That is a great
wave though, hey.

Sorry if this is sort of off-topic...but does anyone happen to still have a copy of that surf movie 'Mad Wax' - about circa 1988-89?
You guys would be the best to ask!

Shit you guys have too much money, all thos OS stuff! Im an old Narrabeen boy. Anyone here surfed White Rock?
I can also remember Collaroy once at 15 foot plus, that was back in the 80's some time possibly the same day/s as mitty was out there! I can
remember watching the late Col Smith, Simon Anderson and Mark Warren out the Alley, they were about the only one's silly enough to be out there! My
old local break was the pines. Occationally I could be bothered walking up to the alley.

Its a long time ago now? I know I have made a heap of the first one at Narrabeen . But the second shot is scar reef in Sumbawa and although it looks
less benine that wave just gets heavier and heavier then sucks on coral . The day that shot was was takren a yank on another boat lost both heals on
dry reef . not pretty.

Here's a couple of pics of Fistral in Newquay, a perfect spot when the swell swings in. Especially the left off the rocks at South. Makes you forget
about the rubber and snow.
