thanks for leading the way mate! was great to catch up with everyone.. whatta top day. needa organise a cruise with the tofu aswell
i tried totake a "shortcut" to my missus place, turned right at some roundabout instead of left, and had to go up thru mt dandenong, olinda,
sasafras, past the cuckoo etc to get to Ferntreegully... apart from me being hungover/queasy, and the windy road, it was a decent drive could be a good-jun for a cruise.. see how many dubs can fall off the edge
of thoes windy roads

This morning about 7:30am, spotted a deep purple/blue Bay with a royal blue pop-top, on Burwood Highway near Kmart in Burwood. Then a bit further
towards the city saw a Super Bug convertible in the Holden hothouse green colour. Nice!
And a bit further towards the city still, I saw a P-plater in a white Super Bug.
I was a mysterioso this morning, none of them spotted me... tehehe

On my way home tonight (about 5:45pm) near Mountaingate Shopping Centre, I saw a Bug Eye!! It was red, had a surfboard across the roof, and looked so
sweet!!
Also saw a khaki green Beetle with cream sides.... very clean.
No waves though, but smiles all round.

In my rearview mirror this morning I saw the Hothouse Green Beetle (P plater) convertible, it was turning left just before Middleborough Rd off
Burwood Hwy. Looked like it needed a bit of air in the tyres?
Also got a nice wave from a guy in a faded blue Bug on Burwood Rd.

Saw the faded blue bug on Burwood Rd near Glenferrie Rd this morning. :P
On my way home along Burwood Hwy (near Springvale Rd intersection) an asian Dude in his sporty white coupe (not sure what model car it was, had an
alright sounding exhaust though ) was yelling out to me as we stopped at
lights! Said my "Beetle was awesome, his brother has an Oval, and my wheels are wicked...."

This morning around 8am there was a pale green Bug behind mine for a while. It had tinted windows, number plate SUK-699.
I've seen this one before, some chick driving who doesn't know about the VW wave, poor soul...

Hey Helbus, when I was at the lights of Wantirna Rd/Canterbury Rd tonight at 5:20pm, I think I saw a creamy-coloured Beetle go down Canterbury Rd (not
towards the city) with the plates KOC!! Was that Fleur's new baby?
I hope it was!!
This week I've been working at the retail outlet for the company I work for, and I found out that one of the girls drives a lilac-coloured '72
Convertible Beetle! YAY! :P

About 10mins ago in Upwey, a dark blue convertible Beetle pulled out of Main St in front of me and I followed it up the hill before turning into my
driveway. A few days ago, saw a white Beetle convertible on my road too. Lots of Bugs near me!

This morning about 7:30am as I was waiting for a gap so I could turn right into Camberwell Rd (off Toorak Rd), I had a wave and a thumbs up from a
dude in a nice white Beetle! I think it had a curved windscreen, but he wasn't going slow enough for me to check out the car..... :P

Last night Fleur and I had a yellow L bug in front of us and a white S beetle turning past us. So in the intersection there were about 12 cars and 3
were VW Beetles. It's a pretty good sight.
I was waving to both other beetle drivers and they both didn't wave back at me. As I was a passenger I was waving with both hands pretty franticly.
The white one was turning, and we definitley had eye contact, but he must have been concentrating on the turn. The L bug driver was either oblivious
or ignoring me also.

I almost think it's rude of VW drivers who don't wave when they see another one!
But then I think they don't have a clue or know about 'the wave'.... they're missing out! :P

Waving as a sign of commiseration? How horrible! I never wave for that reason!
I wave simply because I see someone else driving a cute Bug too, so shoot me if I've got it wrong.

Oh... I like your definition of commiseration better then Marvin... :P
I took it to mean sympathy and sorrow for other people's misfortunes! It didn't sound nice.
I've never had any VW before my PBB, but now when I tell people I have a Beetle they say "That figures!" or "It's so you!", etc... yet I don't
see how when I love a fast car with aircon, and this one is and has neither!
Anyhoo, on the topic of this thread I passed a lovely clean white Bay this morning in Burwood, but no old Beetles, but I did get a nice smile from
someone in a black New Beetle!

The hippy thing for kombi drivers! That is one of the reasons we call our bus the Helbus. Flamejob, black tinted windows, billet wheels, loud exhaust,
Subaru motor, Berg quickshift. Dispells the myths quite quickly.

ignored me like I was insane????

Hmph! That's not supposed to happen! I usually just
smile at Kombi drivers if I see them, and if they wave then I wave back but I don't initiate the wave anymore with them as I don't think they get it
most of the time!
