Those pics are taken on the difficult line to that hill. The easy way is to approach from the left. I tried the difficult line and just did a big wheelstand like Brad (which washes off all your speed). A nissan patrol made it up the difficult line, but none of the VW's did.

I made it up the easy line just fine (in my Baja), and easy made the easy line in the stock 1600cc Geko buggy.

A stock VW won't make it, but if you have big rear tyres you should get enough grip to make the easy tracks.

I am currently uploading my pics here, but I didn't take too many.

http://www.manxgallery.org/gallery/BBBBBQ06

It was a good day. The only car that needed to be towed by the tractor was Brad! The most trees hit was also Brad :D

Terry almost got the closest to rolling over award, but then Mike M put the Geko on 2 wheels and balanced it there for a few seconds :P

Well what can I say I had a great time and got to meet some new people. A big thanks to all those who made the effort to come out for the day and have a play.

On a sour note though can the thieving mongrel who took my steering please return it so I don't hit so many trees next time ...

There were about 10 people with digital cameras, 3 people with video cameras. So there were probably 1000 photos taken on the day and probably around 4 hours of video and would you believe no-one caught the Geko stunt driving on 2 wheels.

Brad does it for the love of it :D

I think he needs traction control, so he doesn't shower everyone with dirt. And he needs ESC (electronic stability control) so he doesn't understeer and hit trees on full boost. He did show how tough the COR bar work is though. :P

ya gotta do it for the fun of it and for the love of it :) he did put on a good show in the baja though , it certainly sounds good with the BOV although very ricey lol heheh . if a bar can handle that and not bend a lili then it sure is built to last

A HUGE thanks to Brad for several reasons.

a) Organising an event. Something more Manx Club members should consider doing (nudge nudge)

b) Letting us use his backyard for a great afternoon of offroad action.

c) Letting me borrow the Geko for the day. It was allot more fun then just walking the tracks. Thanks. I now have to schedule some time to give the Geko some maintenance to make up for my abuse.

Full trip report can be found here:

http://www.manxclub.org/TripReport.asp?EventId=41

I'm looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Cool vids :)

I think I make the hill look easy, and Brad makes it look hard :)

Did you get Andrew? He did the steeper entry the easiest, he did a nice wheelstand with a real smooth landing.
