okay this is just a sample of the carpet that is going in, the anthracite will be lining the lower half of the bus, as well as the roof. the grey will
be running along the top half of the bus to break it up a little bit. here is the anthracite
and the grey
the photos dont really show the difference in colour that well, but the contrast is enough to break it up quite nicely

okay here are a few shots of the carpet that has gone in so far. its definitely not a show winning job, but its not bad for my first time i think.
more pics to follow tonight when i throw some anthracite in there. aiming to get it finished tonight so work on the bed can continue.

I am a very tall man.
i am approximately 187cm tall, and thus the average folding kombi bed seat just isnt big enough to suit. So... time to build a new one.
the bed had to meet these requirements:
strong (im a big boy, and in traditional kombi style, its not just me in there )
long (at least 200cm)
foldable - for extra storage space when the bed isnt being used
removable - there might come a time when i dont want the bed in there.
we used a lightweight, waterproof 15mm ply as our base material, and set to work.
we cut the rear piece to fit using a simple hand held jig. we didnt have time for exact measurements, but we still managed to make it fit quite
nicely.
because of the length of the bed, support struts were fashioned in place where the rear folding seat would usually sit.
the second piece was slightly trickier than the first. we had to build it sp that it would fold ovewr 180 degrees, and so was cut to fit the roof of
the car as tight as possible, whilst still being easy to fold. we used scrap cardboard as a dummy fit, and shaped accordingly.
once again, the end of the bed had to be supported, but still be foldable. cut two pieces of the same ply to fit underneath the bed, and placed them
as close to the end of the bed - and as close to each other - as possible. we fashioned them to the bed using piano hinges, so that they sit flat when
packed away, but hold stiff when the bed is folded out.
and we're all done! a photo of the bed folded up...
and all folded out... (will take better photos later, its dark, sorry!)
grr ladies and gewnts, its just so seems that photo bucket is being a shit and wont resize my photos... will post them later when i can figure it
out.

For waste cotton they charge $15 per square metre.

COLUMBUS RIDES TO VALLA!
all the way there, no problems whatsoever! not a drop of oil leakage, and cruised at roughly 12-14ltr/100kms... i was stoked.
lady valla made an impression... valla or bust baby!
ok, in my laziness, i havent taken any new photos of the bed, however, they will come soon!
instead, here are some shiny bits i picked up from valla...
eyelids! always loved them. one of them has been fitted at an odd angle, so he kinda looks a little stoned, especially at night with the headlights
on... classic!
also picked up some billet window winders. considering what was on there before consisted of plastic, with a bolt through as a handle, this is a major
upgrade.
also picked up an empi short shifting kit, to be fitted soon...
drove down to downtown warilla recently, and met up with old mate chris 'amazer' fraser. dying to work on a dub of any kind, he kindly did some work
to my brakes, handbrake, and gave the thing a general tune up... these are the tools he used.
whilst he's still running a little ill after the loooong cruise to valla and back, he's survivng. in fact, he managed to pull a motorbike all the
way down to canberra and back, with very little hassle... except for the fact that due to the gale force winds blowing ColumBUS and huuge trailer all
over the highway, i couldnt get far over 80km/hr...
it just goes to show that no matter where you are, there will always be another dubber out there... this shot was taken at goulburn maccas... not a
bad specimen either.

wow... should probably update this thing a little more often... but then again, should probably do a little more work to the poor bus!
has been out of commission for a while, and has been left in the backyard awaiting my wallet to fill before any more work gets done (that and we need
to order in more carpet)
BUT... since the wallet has been filling up, i decided to spend a little of it. since this new job has been bringing in a little extra cash, I decided
to take a little risk, show my age (young and dumb... mmm big and shiny!) and bought these rims for an absolute steal! cheers to greedy53 for
these.
they might look good on the bus, they might not. either way, i'll give them a run. 17x7, already modified to fit the bus, all i need to do is supply
the rubber. as soon as tires are fitted i'll whack em on the bus and see if i likes it.
the rubber will be a low profile, with a thin whitewall to bring out the shiny. as much as wel all love chrome i decided against it as i really,
really, really dont want anything stolen off this bus, and whilst the rims look good, i have a feeling theres not a huge demand for modified ford
territory alloys.

kevo, the white walls can be painted on... greedy used a local bloke... apparently it involves shaving a tiny edge out of the side and painting it in
with liquid nylon?????
unsure of the complete process, but its cheap and effective

okay headed out to the sydney stripes last night... what a blast. a few tunes, a few beers and a lot of wikkid art action. being artistically retarded
myself, i left it to the professionals...
i parked the bus and said 'go nuts'. the whole idea of this bus is that its A) a whole lot of fun and B) a plethora of different imaginations
running wild all at once.
TIKI was the theme of the night apparently, and so it began...
they also branded my bus... He belongs to something now!
thanks to krooooozn62 for organizing the night, it will be happening again soon and i surely do hope more people will turn out to try their hand at
pinstriping, art, and carving. heres a few action shots of the master atwork on a new tiki creation...
