Guys, this car is stunning. After seeing it (only in the garage) and having a chat, I think this will be one of the most head-turning kit cars around when he's through.

And Darren, go the 2 seater option (stuff in a couple of 15 inch subs and an insane amp to cover up the rear seats - and blow out the rear window!).

Talk to you soon.

Cheers,

Mick.

What are the Spec's of this engine?
The only RS I can find is a 2.5lt is this correct?

What gearbox will I require to run this beasty?

What did Subaru change on the STi model engines to double there torque figures & Hp?

I know I'm a Subaru Nooby.. :alien It's all still Alien to me..

I'm guessing finding a STi engine is impossible?

that wing is a little bit too much for me personally. if you keep it, it needs to be much closer to the boot.

liberty rs turbo is a 2l turbo. you'll want an Lbug box for that. the impresa RS is the 2.5l na motor.

I think I agree on the wing..
But lowering it may not be an option as all new adjustable mounts would have to be made.

The Wife likes it & I'm 50/50 on it.
I guess I'll just wait till the car is closer to Rego to make the final call.

I think it needs a wing but which one I don't know..

I also got the feeling from the origanal designer that the hatch back idea was a cheap fix & not the design he wanted to use, so the final car design may be different once I see his concept drawings.

Thanks for the feed back.. Good or Bad it all helps guide me as to what I should be doing..

I will be starting work on it again in Sept after I return from my Holidays... If I don't break a leg Skiing..

Cheers..

apparently the 2l quad cam with the variable valve timing is a nice motor.

I'd love to do that..
But I don't know if there is anywhere to mount the large hinges required to raise the doors.

I like to see it with a Lambo Delta V wing on it also. But they are extremely hard to find as all hotrod shops only cater for the Japan Imports.

Ok Car update..

After looking at a V6 twin turbo mitsubishi 6a12gtt on the weekend & finding out it was just too big to fit.. :cry

I have placed an order with Seagull for a Subura EJ20TT to go with the adapter I have also obtained from him.. Thanks Neil...

Which I guess is going to turn out better in the long run.. Even if it has now worked out a lot more expensive then the V6 package that was on offer....

Up side is EJ20TT has almost 30 Kw more power then the V6 & has @ 50Kg's less weight...

New brake lines have been ordered from Classic VW. But I'm still looking into which Disc brake kit I'm going to put onto the car.. At this stage I may even follow Neils (Seagull) lead & use RX7 front brakes & EA Falcon rears..

I'm guessing the engine will get to me in a week so I will be looking to sell the EA71 & Adapter that is currently in the car.

Cheers]
Darren..

Hi everybody... I'm back online...

I've finally got most things sorted after my move from Brisbane to Gladstone.

The Car is still as it was but now I have been told the laws for kitcars is changing again... :grind:

So...

I believe with very little money I could get this ready for Rego with all of the original parts it had when it was last rego'ed. Should I be thinking of doing this?

My plan was to finish the project before trying to get it through rego, but this is going to take lots & lots of dollars which I currently don't have. But if I was to get it to a state where it could be driven & after it's regoed start modifying it to the state I'm looking for.

So please help me out with the Pro's & Con's of getting it through rego or just modify it & get it past at the end...

My fears are I'm going to spend money on this project only to have it turn into a car that can never be driven on the road.

Not sure this will help at all but SA has the most lenient registration in the country.

I have bought two cars from interstate, simply driven them to the local cop shop and the officer has said

"Yep ok that will do"

I do live in the country but only 45 mins out of Adelaide

Amazing the ease in some states and the carry on in others!
