You know how to depress a man!

Firstly I did everything wrong. Do what Damo did and get your hubs modified. This will mean you do not have to by the kerscher ball joints and 944 Turbo strut legs (The car cannot go extremely low with this setup, unlike the golf/modified 1303 struts).

I didnt have a complete list of part numbers.

I didnt want second hand discs from overseas - 1 they might be under size, 2 the cost of freight.

$1080AUD, Intial purchase from German Auto Dismantlers from ebay, parts were wrong, odd, left out and lost (took 6mths to get to me which I bought again in the batch below) the poor communication from the company. They are cheap so I would buy from them again but not through ebay. This included hubs, stubs, calipers and backing plates

$1600AUD new discs, pads, T2 axles and modified CV's, missing parts, wrong parts (Which were later swapped for adjustable bearing plates).

$240AUD Kerscher ball joints.

$60AUD Handbrake swans and handbrake tubes from vdubengineering.com

$1020AUD 944T strut legs, koni coilovers and springs from paragonparts.com

$150AUD worth of missing nuts and bolts.

$40AUD new brake hardlines

$100AUD replacing some bearings and seals

$184.13AUD longer tierods from vdubengineering.com

$350AUD for VDO white faced 280km/hr? speedo (not yet purchased)

$1000AUD porsche wheels from Quick Fit Bowen hills

$60AUD Ball joints pressen in, Road and Track

$80AUD? wheel alignment (not yet done)

Thats all i can think of for the moment

Total:
$5,964.13 Ouch

The bank manager is aware of the purchases, however hasn't seen the total.

You should be able to get all the parts for about $800US second hand, the dollar was at about 76c when I bought.

Get the hubs modified then you dont have to get Kerscher ball joints or custom tierods ( I have heard stock ones will flex/bend with wider wheels and better brakes).

I can get the hand brake tubes and swans made up for you, not sure on price.

I dont know how much to get the hubs for the front modified.

Three things blow my price right out, wrong parts, Porsche wheels and koni coil overs. I wanted that stuff anyways so I feel the brakes only cost me $3000. i reakon you should be able to get that below $2000 if the dollar is right and you get 2nd hand discs.

The pistons in these are massive compared to aftermarket kits available for the commodores and rice burners and cost twice what I paid. It cost me that much before I could drive the car with them. Happy? Yes. Ripped off? No. Would I do it again? Yes but differently

Hmmmmm.......

Decisions decisions, after being in your and coles most awesome ride I came to realise I probably dont need 2.7L however I think from here on it is not going to cost me any extra to continue to build a T4 so I'm going to most likely build a 2270. 78.4mm crank with 96mm slip in barrels. But I'm not doing anything for a little bit. Waiting on the dollar to get better.

Sounds like a good plan Rob.

Capacity is one thing, but performance also comes from a well sorted package, and reliability from quality prooven components. Take your time, make informed decisions, and do it once.:)

Exactly, I dont want an engine thats right on the limit like a 2332 might be. I really want to be able to drive the car to Dubbo at the drop of a hat or thrash it with out having to worry about heating and reliablity or a "freshen up every season"

If I need to go faster I'll have to build a drag car!

Yes I've been quiet, A because I ran out of money and B..... because you'll see why.

Upgraded the tierods with the veedubengineering.com ones

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r232/blingblingbob/Picture049.jpg

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r232/blingblingbob/Picture008.jpg

As you can see they are quite a bit thicker.

Got the Dellorto update kit, yet to be fitted, waiting for some funds to update the rest of the fuel system.

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r232/blingblingbob/Picture054-1.jpg

Oops, doesnt handle so well with 40psi in the tyres. Not happy Jan.......

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r232/blingblingbob/Picture039.jpg

Crashed it about 200m from Daks house.

Broken strut leg, smashed guard, smashed head light and scratched rim. New strut coming other parts already sourced.

Rexy I had a mate make them up for me, I can ask him how much, the studs were after market from...... cant remember I'll have to find the credit card statment, they were in Brisbane I think 11 or twelve dollars each.

life in the Low lane... I was in the reverse direction by the time i hit the guard rail, that off camber has claimed many a car, I just didnt think it would get me..........

I told my wife that I was just driving and then the earth shifted underneath me and put me into the guard rail. She didnt believe me......
