First show
it wasn't too bad....
although the small guy should have been left in the sand dunes... lol

The Lightburn ZETA car that did 60 mph Forwards...
and also did it backwards..
as the engine was started in reverse and the 60 MPH could be driven in reverse..

At least the show is not as bad as "Rodders Life"
on Aurora.. the community channel...
one camera - one microphone...
and people who don't know how to ask the right questions and don't know how to delete the stupid questions....

I finally got around to watching a recorded episode. I too think it is crap. The guy who plays hammond should stop drinking so much coffee. The whole
show should try to stop being a clone. It doesnt work. Just like the american version of 'the office' didnt work. You can copy the format without
trying to imitate the whole show. You can have road tests, celebs in satrias etc, just dont try and make it word for word.

Dont know that the Satria is a good car to let them loose in. Its actually too good. If they are anything at all like the Gti you'll never see
excitement.I went to the launch at Eastern Creek years ago and I was blown away by the grip. No grunt + heaps of grip will mean boring TV.

What shits me about both versions of the show is the constant talking. Just once I would like to listen to the cars rev out. All I ask for is 10
seconds of engine noise per car. Is it too much to ask?

Destroying a classic moke wasnt cool either.

I can't stand to watch the show. i keep trying but then i just get sidetracked due to boredom and it runs as background thing in case something
interesting happens on it.
By copying the original show it feels like they are playing roles that were never meant for them.

well when i heard they were going to do a Aussie topgear i thought "please try and be there own and not a copy".

All i heard was they are not going to copy the uk show, its going to be there own thing. Great i thought heres hoping it will be.

Watched the first half hour of the first show and TOTAL SHIT! they were trying to be there uk counterparts, the format was the same, the warehouse was
the same shit they even had a stig!!!

I have had no intrest in watching it since. Now tonight my 3 year old changed the channel and it was on, i didnt realy take much notice untill i see
them turning a audi into a boat!!! i mean for fu*k sake the uk show did it ages ago and they say they are not trying to copy????

i wont watch it again it a sham and a disgrace. Heres waiting for the new pommie season

channel 7 had the decency to axe american Kath and Kim after 2 shows.... not that I am particularly fond of the aussie one.
American The Office didnt come close to the English one.

You just cant copy shows and expect them to do well.

Tonight was rubbish. They didnt even road test the Audi, what the hell does 100 doughnuts prove? The tractor crash was scripted and the car boat has
already been done. If that cartoonist draws 1 more of his shitty picture I'll show him where he can put it.

I must say that the first few shows I thought were crap......Again tried to clone tonite with the sail boat car, already been done by Clarkson and
crew....

Must say though that it seemed better. Especially liked Warren with the Torak tractor....

It took Clarkson and crew a few seasons to get it going, so I will give the Aussie version some more time, however, not a real fan of Charlie
Cox....Trying to be Clarkson and that will never happen.

That R8 was good before Charlie drove it,
He drives like a dickhead , and for sure would have damaged more than just the tyres,
I was waiting for a hot chicky babe to wiggle her smallest finger at Charlie , it would have been apprpriate.
They guy has child like mentality.

I agree - it's definitely nowhere near the UK show, but I think it is slowly getting better. I only survived to ep2 because of the Ford v Holden
thing, but I'll keep watching it now I think.

From ep1, to 2 & 3 there was a noticeable difference in the little guy (who the f*** remembers his name ?)... obviously where the show's
producers etc. felt their weakest link was. Now that they've improved him, they've moved focus to Charlie...yes he's a goose and he's trying too
hard to be Clarkson, but last nite he was definitely "toned down" over previous episodes, and I reckon next week will probably be improved still
more.

Once they've got the presenters being a bit more natural, I reckon some format changes are in order. "What were they thinking?" should go bye bye,
which would open up some more time for road tests etc.

The track also needs to be made more obvious, some higher camera angles etc. Putting the map of it up on the SBS website is a good start to that
process tho http://www.sbs.com.au/topgearaustralia/web/images/circuitmap_large.png

I agree with the comment that they are trying to be too much like the UK show and Clarkson. And thats the bits of the show I dont like. When they stop
being Top Gear UK clones it actually gets better.

it's been a while since the 1st show since ihave been about to watch it again..
what can I say it was shite! IMO
circle work shoulda been reserved for bogan pride
I'm at a loss as the loser in the audi even looked bored whilst doing them so no real challenge there on a fookin runway of all places
it might of looked good n exotic on paper for scheduling but in reality boring boring boring
however the show following this one - swift n shift was an absolute cracker!
there was more racing, stunt jumping n road testing on this showthan the purpose made clone from uk
bring back orig repeats pls!

have to agree that it seems to be getting a little better, the segments probably won't improve much because I think they have fiilmed most/all of
them already. but the studio work has improved slightly.

can't warm up to charlie though, his voice is just too annoying!

cheers
