my new circuit car is my next priority . I will be concentrating wholy on this car to get it up and running before starting on the drag bus .
It was just that the bus came along and I had to grab it while I had the chance and I drove to Bendigo on the weekend to collect it . Along with the
drag bus will be Ben Fords' new drag car ......
I will show detailed pics over the next couple of months of the build-up / modifications on the circuit car , starting early next week .

Well here I go again , another mamoth project undertaken but cant wait to plant my butt in the drivers seat and stand on the 'GO FAST' pedal .
Tonight I have started on the recreation of a lost legend . DTTF is in the shop and work has commenced ...... but most importantly one small task had
to be attended to first , as the first pics shows

when towing DTTF to my shop , the front suspension rocker brackets all broke off the chassis . This is the first job to attend to , the brackets are
all cleaned / repositioned and welded into place

more progress on DTTF tonight . The right front suspension rocker brackets were welded into place and the suspension reassembled , so DTTF now sits on
its own springs for the very first time .
I then drilled all the holes in the front skirts to bolt them on securely and tapped all the threads . The front end was then reassembled and headlamp
decals fitted (samples only)
My seat is then stripped of its cover in preparation for installation

all the windows are removed to protect them from grinding sparks and the top chassis bars are cut out .
I am not happy with the seating height . The fuel tank Richard had designed is under the drivers seat with a protective firewall between the tank and
the driver , but with the tank under the seat the drivers seat sits way too high and my helmet would hit the top rollcage hoops . The fuel tank has to
go !! I will fit a fuel cell under the front hood area as I did with my blue WPVW sports sedan . This will allow me to cut out a couple of more bars ,
drop the seat down approx. 4" and then weld back in the chassis bars required .

yes Col , depending on tracks as the car will be quite low . Bathust definately , and I am aware of the Australian Hillclimb championships being held

more progress today on DTTF . after fitting the front undercarriage tray to take some pics , I removed the entire floor panel , removed the body from
the chassis , removed the fuel tank , cut out several chassis bars , fitted my seat in to check heights and welded some temporary bars in so that the
chassis would not bend

removing the fuel tank . the tank had to be dropped down through the floor due to the design of it .
after the tank was removed I cut out several chassis bars . with the seat now sitting lower , the seat belt anchorages will also have to be relocated
as they now sit way too high .
strengthening bars are welded into the chassis under the steering frame assembly to support it

the body is then fitted back onto the chassis and the seating position is much better ....

the plan for this car is to run a modified type-1 tranny with 930 Porsche CV axles and quaife LSD .

today the 930 Porsche CV race axle kit arrived .
4x race clearanced 930 CV joints , 2x chromoly axles , 4x CV boots , 4x CV boot flanges , 24x h/duty Cv bolts , circlips & grease .
Also the Porsche 930 rear stub axles have arrived .
All looks great and will be back onto the car Monday night next week as I am concentrating on the oval for the next couple of days to get it to the

spent some more time on DTTF today . I removed the body from the chassis once again , and started work on the chassis top rails .
I manufactured the new top rails and closed in the ends on all cut chassis members .
I then aligned the cut chassis rails and welded the new ones into place .
The seat was then fitted with the upper support bracket and put into position (chocked with temporary timber supports) to establish the correct height
prior to manufacturing seat mountings .
After the seat mountings are manufactured and fitted , some additional chassis support bars will be added to strengthen the new top rails .
