update
Got my rims painted today, Will get the tyres on them Tuesday.... I also tacked in the mount for the harness, I'll trim it down and tidy it up once
its all welded in. All the rear end is now in including brakes, brake lines, shocks, Just waiting on my drums to be machined to take the short axles,
and my discs to finish the front then she'll be a roller! I have a feeling its gonna end up being a scramble to get to warwick....

Picked up my wheels today with slicks and formula vee tyres on... i think they look cool! bloody heavy wheels... I think a lighter set will be on the
cards in the future!
I also mounted the fuel tank, I bought the tank from Ben out of the Rat but as it turns out the earlier model bug had a different front end where the
tank mounts... I didn't think of that. I knocked up a mount for it tonight out of 25x25x3mm angle, It don't look real pretty but it'll do the job.
It's just tacked in at the moment, everything is getting fully welded on saturday.... fingers crossed.

Yeah, i found a pic of it mounted in the rat. That wall it mounts to seems to be higher and flatter in the earlier bug, there is only roughly a 3"
strip on mine and its definitely not flat! It clears the bonnet by a mile and it's all that will be in there so where it is will be fine. I'll pull
it out and polish it when i get a chance. The Slicks are 26'' x 8"

The slicks do look huge in that photo! They aren't as big as they look there...

Yeah, i really get a kick out of looking at other peoples projects too. It keeps me motivated. I think i'm starting to worry about not having it
ready for warwick so i'm getting out in the cold every night and getting a bit done!

opinions wanted!
Big day yesterday! Dave came around and fully welded everything, We also managed to get the car on the ground and mock up the guards to get an idea on
what it might look like.
I am chuffed with the front end, but i am in need of some opinions on the rear guards.... When i initially put them on with out the front guards on,
the guards i have always despised grew on me quite quickly! But since putting the front guards on i am now not so sure. Keep in mind it still needs to
come down a couple of inches in the back, and it will all be painted satin black.

Keep up the good work.
My vote on rear guards...
But sometimes the ones you have are better than the ones you don't.

About 300 bucks.... And thats if smoothies are wide enough. How wide is a stock guard? From the wheel arch in the middle?

Theres the problem. i think we prefer the smooth rollover guards without the step... leave them for now, guards can change anytime if you don't have
funds spare at the moment

Dosnt matter what we think! Its your car! If you like them, keep them. If you dont like them, get new ones. Either way, guards dont make your car go
faster!!!

Guards are Purdy! I have them on mine! When the paint is on, vehicle is sitting lower and providing the tyres fill the guards, they'll be fine.

Do you think you will be able to do a good burn out with those big slicks to get some heat into them????

Been told no burnouts with the superdiff anyway so not really an issue. I might be able to warm them up a little but no line locks or anything
silly....

Dave came around and we bled the brakes so she now steers, and stops.... we just need to get her moving forward under her own steam i also made up my dash during the week so we fitted it and the tacho.
It's all out again now for painting but i think it looks cool... I will have to find a use for all these switches
