I Painted Dash and pillars and door frames, I Left the dash grey tho it breaks it up a bit and goes well with the black and grey seats and door
panels.

Seb,
Yeah i probly do need put up more pics. but lighting in the shed is very poor cant get good photos.
The Bug is going to a mates house soon for him to weld up mounts and install the new sports seats and do some work on it that i can't do properly or
profesionally.
2pak black will look good on your bug it will suit well! I Painted the metal in my interior grey primer and im gonna leave it like that now for the
time being. I Reccon it looks good cause it goes well with the grey parts of the interior i have grey rear seats and rear door pannels.

Rear Left Gaurd
Well The Rear Left Gaurd i had was given to me from Joel.
It was quite out of shape and looked out of place now i have the car looking more straight so for $50 i could'nt say no to this almost perfect L bug
gaurd. Also using this decklid as i realised the bolt holes on the hinges of the 2 slot mesh decklid were totally rooted. So the decklid and front
right gaurd and rear left gaurd will be painted then all bolted on correctly.

Dylan, if it is just the thread in the holes, you can use longer bolts & put nuts on the back - if it is the ones I think it is.

Dylan, are the LEDS actually coloured or are they just white lights?
Curious for my own use, as sometimes a really bright bulb will "outshine" the cloured lense of the tailight & make them look white instead of
red, orange. Might be the go if they are coloured.
Cheers

If you're gonna run that no vent decklid make sure you prop the top or bottom open otherwise you'll cook that engine.
If you go with LED indicators you'll need the special LED flasher relay too.
I went through it all with mine only to pull them all back out again, LEDs are too directional, even the wide angle ones.
Ok for brake lights but not so much indicators.

Wiring Maddness!!
Hey Guys!
Im up to fixing up all the wiring! (That I havent done already)
I Have done wiring all along the way but right now I'm installing, wiring up and getting to work my Headlights, tail lights, Reverse lights, Number
plate light, Parker lights, Horn, Windscreen washer and so on. This work will go in conjunction with soon removing the engine to do the seals where
oil is leaking. Matt Ryan came over and helped me with the service on the bug we did the timing and the Valves (Tappet clearance) And when i have the
engine out ill do the plugs, leads, Change oil and I'm hoping also a new SVDA Dissy but i might be dreaming a bit there as i might not have the extra
funds. Id love a SVDA but the 009 runs and drives the car so it's not all that necessary.
I Will let you all know more soon, with some pics along with it. Im busy studdying 2 TAFE Courses at once, One being Generall schooling (Year 10) and
the other a Ceritificate II in Automotive.

Well i have left the wiring for a bit. i have now lost all head and tail lights and indicators = /
Since i put the car back together i took it for a test drive first time driving it in 8 months. The car went alright although the engine was very
sluggish to build up revs like a massive flat spot. anyone know what that could be from? it had exhaust leak and carby side mixture screws were out,
would that do it? Im getting new spark slugs in tomorrow and hopefully soon after that a new set of leads, a new performance coil and a SVDA Dissy
with electronic ignition. Okay so heres for the bad news. For some reason my NEW RHS diamond cut H4 headlight and bucket fell out and went straight
under my wheel and tottally crushed the RHS unit and the bucket.

They are real easy to fit.
The stock runners just unclip off the bottom of the standard seats.
Just weld some tabs to them to pick up the bolts on the bottom of the Saas seats.

You know it's time to Replace your Spark plugs when they look like this
I Put in all new spark plugs today and Here's a comparison from the new to the old.
Old ones were NGK Japan
New ones Bosch
Next will be
- New Performance coil
- Rebuild Carby
- New Ignition leads
- SVDA Dissy? (depending on amount of $$$ i have)

Ha!
Those old plugs look rooted.
Mine always went like a go cart with new plugs. The rings in the old engine were stuffed and would clog up everything. New plugs were great for a
month, then shit again.
Should feel the difference with the new ones.

I have blocked jets in the carby (suspecting) I gotta fix that then get a muffler on my extractors and it should run well.

Headlights ..... Finally getting somewhere
While I'm waiting for some money and parts to come through for more engine bits, I had a look at my lights. I Now have my headlights fully functional
and working. I just need to buy a new RHS Insert and mounting bucket. Insert is $40 delivered and Mounting bucket $45 delivered. I Had to trim the
mounting buckets so the inserts would fit because the wedge Parker bulb holder wouldn't clear the bucket. Here is a pic below of my Super White 28
LED's in 1 Parker bulb.

They are $35 each from Classic Vee Dub in Sydney. They are beetle headlight buckets for 7" inserts, my inserts didn't clear the parker light housing
and wires so i just trimed the inner lip of the bucket.

Lights now working
A mate came over who's a Auto Electrician by trade and he spared some time from his busy work and community schedule to help me fix my Indicators and
Tail lights. All fixed now and 1 step closer to road worthy. New (fibreglass) Glove box from John Sherman (Volks-Conversions) Then the new headlight
insert and bucket for RHS will be the next things coming in.

The car is now back rolling again with the new black deep dish vw steelies and chrome vw hubcaps. They now have good tyres all round running;
Front Tyres: 175/70/R14
Rear Tyres: 195/75/R14
I fixed the car up and converted it back to use vw beetle seats and runners instead of the 4 point mount celica seats that were in it. The beetle
runners were still in the floorpans but i just had a bit of tinkering to make them work. I now have a old beetle drivers seat and when i get a
passenger side i will start pulling them appart to get the beetle seat of the base and put my SAAS seats on them. Planing on putting some fuel in it
and getting it out of the shed and driving it out the front to degreese the motor and change the engine oil. Will take some pictures on the weekend
when i get it outah the shed.
The Car is about 90% Percent ready to be Registered and only a few od bit's and peices to buy untill it's ready.
