By chance is that the old 'barn find/little old lady' car you messed with back in the early 90's?.... Spindle mount front wheels and massive 52mm (?) IDA's?.... Got some pics from the Nationals 1/8th mile at Oran Park somewhere.

Hi Humpty,
You mean this old car?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/menangler/formSmall.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/menangler/form0001Small-1.jpg

This car is long gone, the only parts I have off the car are the rear wheels.and the cylinder heads. These are the only photos I have of it, these were taken at the 1993 nationals.

Yeah that's the one.... And I can see me standing next you as you are lifting the frontend!!!!

Thanks Dave, yeah- I like it. I found a NOS original oval front blade in my stockpile. Anything for an advantage - mental or otherwise!!
Now, how do I get it 6 inches closer to the ground at the finish line without anyone noticing?

Hi All,

Entries close this Friday 17th February 2012. If only for my sanity, don't leave it to the last minute if you intend competing. I encourage anyone considering racing to do so, as the VW scene has been given an excellent opportunity to have their own day on the quarter and it should be grasped with both hands. Track days at Sydney are a precious commodity so please make the most of it in 2012 - don't wait for next year.

The format for racing will be the same as in 2011, with the four classes - Aircooled, Watercooled, VW Bodied and VW Special - competing in a round robin dial your own competition. The Top VW Shootout is open to all vehicles from the four classes who run an 11.85 or better for the quarter. The 11.85 cut-off is quick, but fair given some of the times being run by the VW regulars on the quarter. It's also not too far away from those who are aiming to go even faster at Sydney.

A reminder to check the website for racing requirements and driver apparel, and please be mindful of the ET brackets - I would not like to see anyone go home early because they did not take note of the information.

There will be one more update next week, and as I mentioned before, a notice to cancel should the weather forecast look grim, will be made by text and email on Wednesday 22nd February at 5pm.

See you on the track

Cheers
Craig Hughes

Good to hear you're heading down Reub, look forward to catching up (along with everyone else). Yet again no racing budget for me this year, but we'll be driving the T5 down to showcase a few products as a sponsor of the event.
Cheers
