What a great day's Drag Racing!!!!
To have so many (awesome) VW's competing at my home track has been a long time wish
As everyone else has mentioned, a heart-felt "Thank You" to Craig and his elves, Ray and all the Sydney Dragway crew for putting on an exceptional
First "all VW" event at home and to Andrew for the rare (but slow) Type 3 Panel tow car.
The track prep was good enough for a personal best of 11.776 @112.31 mph (only to be let down when I ran Rod R.) 2 side-steps per run is my limit so I
aborted the run believing I had broken something.
Initial checks reveal that all is OK with the car, so I hope to run the upcoming Pro-Stock round at Sydney Dragway
I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of (start-line) breakages therefore few on-track hold-ups - Thank you to everyone that didn't destroy
something
Now that the VW ice has been broken at Sydney Dragway, maybe we could see some of the VW's at a Bracket Meet or better still, a Championship round to
show the greater public that VW's are quick and can be competitive in the bigger fish bowl
Rod, Rod, Rod, I gave you this one, but at the next Warwick...........

Maybe at Warwick, I could get out and guide you into stage?
The car seems OK (although I think my tyre pressures were a little high), but I might need a check-up!!!

Awesome Day. I didnt take any good pics, but put together a bit of a video of one of my runs. I was also using the day to tune my new engine so was
only logging my revs, wideband AFRrs, boost etc. I added some gauges using Dashware.
My gearbox was a subarugears.com modified box with a 3.9 R&P and with my 31" tall tyres wasn't the best, I was easily bogging down at the start
and was going over the finish line still in 3rd gear! but the box held up well and was easy to shift even at high rpm.
