having over 2000 photos of me 63 resto project i've finally put up some of the work that has been done on it. keen to get the body of to the paint shop. all new wiring loom to be put in within the next few weeks. Does anyone know where i can purchase a decent 6-12 volt convertor from?

another decision should the rims be painted the same colour of the car or red like the interior.

I reckon clean up the drums (paint alloy wheel silver) and match the rims to the drums. Black wheel nuts, and no hubcaps :)
The 5x205 drop centre wheels are a real character point for the cars and I like seeing them visable (clean and neat of course)!

(nice colour choice by the way.. let us know an approximate cost for the body/paint shop?? That metallic won't be cheap?)

@spectral im getting it done through a family friend he has quoted me around 2k plus he is doing a bit more of the body work to get it looking smick. I've got a set of hubbies in perfect condition wouldn't want them to go to waist :).

yeah they are from a 67, i got the from a vw event and dont want to pay 120 for cheap reproduction ones. I have a set from a 67 with original hella lenses.

Spent the weekend running the new wiring loom with a few experts giving me a hand :). things are coming together quite quickly. Any chance anyone knows of a trimmer who deals with vw's? need windows, headliner etc fitted.

Don't know about VW specifically, but these guys do a great job that is for sure. A few mates have had their cars done here.
