Nice work..was wondering what was happening with this build..I can highly recommend using a Zinc rich weld-through primer or copper spray on the areas
where you are welding. The copper spray helps to seal off the welds on the inside in the cavity preventing further rusting..Heres a pic for your
reference from my wifes beetle..looking forward to more progress..goodluck!.

Thanks for the heads up. But I am using a product that is a rust converter and protector. Also I the car will be drowned with fish oil once it is
done. I have never had any problems doing it this way. But I love new Ideas what is the name of the primer that you use?

Things are start and stop with this build but at the moment there is a little more starting more often. Which is a good thing. Longer days and better
weather make it a little easier. Anyway " BOOF" my son got a little bored one day while I was at work he had a little dig and started to rebuild
the inner panels on the driver’s side rear. This was one job I wasn't looking forward to. Thanks son Ha Ha.
THERE WAR ALOT OF THIN METAL IN HERE BUT IT ALL BURNT OUT NOW
LUCKY I HAD A GOOD LOOK ON THE INSIDE. FOUND THIS BUGGER HIDDING. THIS ONLY LOOKED LIKE SURFACE RUST AT FIRST

Got out into the garage as Finlay got some bling that we had ordered. This next lot of photos might stir some controversy. But it is PRINCESSES car and
she is putting her stamp on it. Which I like as is shows that she isn't scared to be different. I also got a little board with rust repair so I
turned to try some custom stuff . Love a challenge. I got some earlier guards and started to cut them up but it didn't work so we are staying with
the later guards.
MADE A BLANK UP TO COVER THAT HUGE HOLE
DID A BIT OF MEASURING AND MARKING THEN STARTED THE CUTTING
GRIND A LITTLE AND TRYGOT IT CLOSE NOW FOR THE FITTING GRIND A LITTLE AND TRY GRIND A LITTLE AND TRY GRIND A LITTLE AND TRY GRIND A LITTLE AND TRY
GRIND A LITTLE AND TRY GET MY DRIFT HA HA
GOT IT IN THERE FINALY
THIS LIGHT IS A STOP TALE LIGHT
THIS RECTANGLE WAS EASY AS AND IT IS THE REVERS AND INDICATOR LIGHT. NOT BAD FOR ABOUT 1.5 HOURS OF WORK
HAD TO MAKE A FEW MODS TO THE GAURDS. MAKE A BIGGER HOLE BIGGER HA HA
ONE SIDE DONE ONE TO GO

Back to the lights these are a bitch. I Had to stand them up some more so I had to make this bracket. The problem was to get the right angle so that
the light is flush at the top and protrudes at the bottom. I think I have it right. All I need to do it box them in to try and keep the water out of
the back of them. I think I have nutted that out but yet to finish it.
hope it works heaps of hours to get it to this stage ....................more thinking hours than doing hours. But I'm loving the challange

Back again finding it hard to find motivation. there is something about this 41deg heat for some stupid reason I went out to the garage and did some.
This was fun though mounting these cool mirrors. In the process gave an XMAS present a small work out to. THE RENIVATOR..... worked quite well to.
Small progress better than none.
THE XMAS PRESENT........ THE RENIVATOOOOOOOOOR HA HA
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL MIRROR I HAD TO CUT THE THREAD OFF IT
DRILLED AND TAPPED A THREAD THOUGH IT
FOUND A BOLT TO FIT THE MIRRORS AND THE TAP
CUT IT WITH THE XMAS PRESENT
AND DONE HA HA

2 days in a row working on BORIS I must be feeling sick. Today I custom fitted some LED lights for indicators. It was some fun as there was a plan A
, plan B plan C and I think it all settled on plan D. Plan D was my first plan but I thought that I would try to challenge myself in doing it the
fancy way but my skills aren't up to that yet. Nor do I have the right tools for the job. I found out I love my angle grinder. She has been in my
hands for about 25 years and she dose all i ask of her.
FIRST I HAD TO TRY AND MAKE A STABLE SURFACE TO WORK ON HAD SOME FOAM FOR THAT
THEN I PIANTED THE SEROUND SO I COULD DO SOME MARKING
MY STABLE TABLE REDY TO ATTACK
THIS WAS PLAN A TRY TO DRILL ALL THE HOLES. BUT I STUFFED UP AND DIDNT GET THE 21 SPACINGS RIGHT
PLAN B TRY TO MAKE HOLES BIGGER ..... THE BIT DIDNT LIKE IT HA HA
PLAN C GET THE CARBIDE TIP OUT....................WOW WASNT HE A HUNGRY LITTLE EFFFFFFFER
PLAN D GET OLD TRUSTY OUT SHE NEVER FAILS
AFTE TAKING MY TIME WITH HER AND A FLAP DISK JOB DONE AND IM HAPPY

your lights look pretty cool.
But depends on who checks it over for the road worthy, add on accessories should comply with your state rules.
and
when you put your door cards backon, dont forget to put the plastic on before, a lot of people forget as their cars been apart for a long time.
