Meet Ocho, our 65 standard beetle.
All original, only modification is bumpers and hubcaps have been chromed. 1200cc, 6 volt, no glovebox lid, one sunvisor, no side mirrors, no wash jets
and no fuel gauge (reserve lever). The chrome strips are an original feature on the 65 standard.
Still need to install carpet and the sweet centre only headlining which is current on order from Bugnbus.

Was told that this is a 1964 Standard Aussie built. Has glove box lid, and obviously had some carpet added at some time - but it has only half roof
lining and the 1200 cc donk.

It looks like a deluxe to me.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Both the Deluxe and Standard had 1200cc engines in 1964, so that won't give any clue. The Deluxe went to 1300cc in 1966 but the Standard stayed 1200.
In 1967 both were 1300; the Standard was renamed the Custom.
As Phill says, yes it does look like a Deluxe, with most of the Deluxe's goodies added over the years. Most of the buyers of Standards would have
done that, to some extent, over the years. Look at the headlining around the rear window though - you can see the painted steel so you know it was
once a Standard. The engine lid is off a later model; the 1964 didn't have any badges (Deluxe or Standard).

Does anyone know if a 67 custom had kick panels under the rear seat fitted as standard or not?

I hoping someone here maybe able to help me track down an interior light delete (see image below) to suit my 1965 standard beetle.
I know they are extremely rare but on the off chance someone here has one OR know someone that may have one please let me know.
Willing to pay good money.
Cheers!

try pulling an interior light apart, fill the switch hole up and paint it. it might not be perfect but it better than having a light to help you see.
LOL

light blank cover
this is the correct cover but it shouldn't be too hard to make one out of a light.

I have another standard question. Should there be beading down the B pillar ?? I think it would do some damage to your head in an accident without any
beading

Is there many other standard beetles out there in Victoria? Been taking mine to DOVW and Jambo for a few years now and haven't seen many/if any
others.
