That really not good and one more bad thing is id never have that much money to buy it. Who ever you sell it to make sure that they come on here so we
can see what happens to this car in the futre.

Dude that sucks If I had 33K i'd take her but I don't even own a
house yet
it will be sacrilege if someone splits the conversion from her. Good luck with the sale

Time will tell - otherwise, i strip the whole thing, which would really suck - but all the parts are there - the money is there.
Rather you got the dosh or ya don't - price is beyond fair.

The price is very very fair. the quality of this car is amazing. Not downing on anyone else, but it is also an amazing conversion, and from what I
experienced a few months back, it is a flippin' amazing ride. It's really sad to see Mick sell this as I know (when it was working) it was alot of
fun for him (and others that have experienced it). This is an awesome car if you want a street legal, fast and safe bug, and dont want to spend double
what he has (which is easily what it would cost to put together a car like this), this is a mighty fine car. Also, Mick is a super tops bloke, and I
owe him many thanks for allowing me to tag along with him at warwick, and be able to experience vw drag racing at its finest.

I don't think that it has anything to do with being tight,i'd rather spend 30k a '03 wrx with all the mod cons and 3k on a '70 beetle. No offence
intended Mick, I hope you manage to re-coup some cash, after all it is a great car. But your market group may not be found here.

gotta be the right buyer - its all good, i know what im in for. As i said i can part the car out and re-coup the same amount. People would rather buy
in small bits then in one go.
Ask anyone what they've spent on a full resto and 30k is loose change. Again, depends what you want - some people hate 03 wrx's and would rather am
older car, hence this forum...

thats why its advertised o/s & someone looking at a wicked beetle
will most likely not care about air con, power steer etc, why else would you be looking at an older car
mick, after my suggestion of it going to the uk etc, i had a horrible image of it rusting to peices where they salt the roads fingers crossed it doesnt happen

Just spent 3 hours on the side of the road with a sign attached to my neck reading
"Need 33k for my favourite car ever..."
Didn't seem to work, however I have a plan for tomorrow;
"Ninja's killed my family - need money for Kung-Fu Lessons" - should work I think!

Nice!
Had a few bites so far - some inspections over the next week. If not enough interest on the whole car then ill put some alternate 'parting' options
up - though would need to sell rolling shell as one (no engine/no interior and whatever esle depending price).
Already have offer on 'conversion package' which i am happy with - still would rather sell as one - early days yet.

Good luck with the sale mate, I for one think its worth every cent!
As for Brians comment above, I think its most of us that are dreaming.....dreaming that we could afford to buy, or build a car with the quality of
your build!!
Shame you have to sell it mate after such hard work
Just had a thought, maybe I could put a couple of my kids on Ebay....that might bring enough money for my to buy your bug!!......thinking about it
though, with my kids, it would only bring enough for a deposit!!
All the best mate!

mick, dont let the wife see this but can you sell her instead?
(sorry but it had to be said) no no i dont mean it, just sad to see you have it up for sale, i know the $$$ & effort well & its really sad
that you gotta sell, the ride in it was priceless, IF my own car didnt mean so much & i wasnt so far into it id part it all out & buy, funny
how theres only ONE hater on the thread, agree with what was said, show me what you built & spent $$$ blood sweat & tears on, then show the
receipts for it, jealousy perhaps?
sides sees your side cos of his own bug, and my influence from the darkside haha, mick i still havent found the cookies they supposedly have over
here, have you?

Gotta do what you gotta do Mick.....my wife was more upset than me when I sold the ragtop, I wasn't too phased as its only a car and you can always
build another one and make it better (and can learn from the mistakes/lessons for the next build).
Not saying you shouldn't keep it of course

hey man keep it for a bit longer and get the right price for it.
its gotta be worth more in australia than os as the engineering and rego is done.
i know this cos i went through it on my car and that was a simple t4 conversion with a few other bits.
i wish i was back in aus for good, then i would think seriously about selling mine and buying yours
good luck with the sale. take your time but dont split it up.

Hopefully it will stay in Australia and not get destroyed by the European weather conditions!! 33K is cheap considering I can imagine how much all
this would have cost in the first place. Lost of tyre kickers in the volksy circles who only wish they could build a car like this but bag anyone who
tries to sell it for waaaay cheaper than what was spent on it. I tend to call it jealousy personally!!After all 33K for a 58 with all the fruit is
pretty good value and a damm sweet ride. Got to see this car in the flesh to believe how good it actually is. At that price it would almost go close
to cover what Troy has spent on his engine/drivetrain etc in the fastback over the last 10 years or so and you get a whole car not JUST an
engine......
Good luck with the sale Mick you will be sad to see her go no doubt. I had to part with a car I poured a lot of time and energy into to buy a house
and trust me it is worth it. I've made 5 times the amount of money I sold the car for on my house in 2 years and a few renovations. Now i am able to
buy my next house which will have all the room i need to work on the Kombi properly......

Hi
This is a beautiful car, I looked under it many times at Westies.
If the car did go to UK or Eroupe, I doubt that it would get driven in any adverse conditions.
Many people talk about building cars and losing money, you only loose money when you sell them.

see what happens - just need to be patient i guess - i want it to stay as one, just depends which i want more, that or the money. I think if someone
wanted the car as is without conversion i would go that way. 666bug (Cameron) is a really nice guy too and i know how much effort he has put into his
bug, so i'd be happy to sell him the conversion - need the right price for the 58 to do that though.
See what happens - i can enjoy the car for now

I'm sure Mick is VERY negotiable on price
Apparently subie conversions only cost $800 to do, so its better value to buy it without the motor for $22k !!!
