i think its the cheapest and cleanest option.you could do a multi hole bracket aswell so if you want to change the height it is as simple as moving up
or down the holes.
there are some others for cv cars aswell, but i will be diggin deap to fine them.
down sharon.

That's a very cool option Brad.... I remember you telling about this kinda thing before... I just couldn't see how you locate the wheel
laterally...
I know people have said the FOLTS unijoint setup can break and it has the potential of a total loss of alignment, but at least I know the FOLTS axle
is good for way more power than I will produce... Good race swingaxle are hard to source these days so hear... Not having seriously looked into the
stock style HD axle, I have no idea if this is true... But like I said... This FOLTS 091 came up for an amazing price, which really dictated all the
other mods.
Cheers for finding that pic though.... It's a very interesting idea.

A triangular link from a another mount near the back of the box, like std IRS but with with adjusters for length?
A horizontal link from the side of the box, level with CV shaft, attached to a cage over the box from the horns?
The last one you might want to consider as an axle retainer for when you runs 9s Mr Hump.

Weld pivot boxes onto torsion housing and modify some bay kombi trailing arms. Bit of work far from impossible. At least bay kombi arms are smaller in
diameter especially if room is minimal.

Had some more time on the POS today....
Might get to fitting the new clutch tomorrow, and get the car running.... Got some some more work to do on the Ghia tomorrow too.... Busy, busy.

This arrived today.... Thanks to Doug from Deluxe Iron Works ( http://store.dlx-fe.com/ )
Got the engine back together and the clutch on... Might get it back in the car tonight when my mate John is done with the Ghia repairs on the drivers
side.

Hey Simon...I noticed your using the same blue flexible hose between your carb manifold and turbo.
I pulled mine off on the weekend and noticed it was deteriorating where I believe it comes in contact with fuel.
I've noticed it before where my intake manifold joins the head manifolds. Although it's heat resistance I don't think it's fuel resistant.
Probably wouldn't be an issue in a blow through setup. The first layer of rubber (red I think) is gone.

So I've been spending some quality time with the KG these past couple weeks, getting the sills and the doors solid. But all the while the POS has
been waiting patiently for me to move it back into the shed... The time has come to put the engine back in and hit the track next week. The timing is
good, cause Reubs coming ver tomorrow morning to work on the Paprika.... Tom Laube is in town too, and I think he's keen to come by the shed for a
session on the dubs... Tomorrow is looking good for the POS I'd say.... The new transaxle still hasn't cleared customs, but I do have the mounts for
it, so if I have time tomorrow I might get back onto the pan....
Also.... I'm thinking the POS is gonna get a little heavy being all steel and adding a cage in the old girl, so I've been looking at ways to counter
the extra heft I have to carry in the car.... And yes.... I have been losing a little weight off myself too, but I think the car could stand to loose
a few lbs too.... Looking at Mike's car and a couple out of Europe, the idea of cutting out the inner guards at the front, and the inner door skins
and quarter panel skins is looking likely... Just cause I want the car to look stock, I still want to run oem style door cards and such, but will
ultimately make some light weight ones, and possible fit plastic side glass in the oem rubbers.... Which brings me to my next question....
Would an Ali beam be strong enough for an all steel car?

It's back in and wired up.... Just need to remake/improve the apron mounting method and add some fuel.... Off to the track on Wednesday I reckon!
Got these made up by a mate....
They will make the refitting of the cut torsion tubes much easier.

Hi Simon , I have run an alloy beam in my turbo oval (full steel , glass , interior & 1840lbs ) on the street for many years and it has been fine
with careful driving in mind . I do not drive my oval around corners like the blue WPVW sports sedan and always have it in the back of my mind that
the alloy beam is not as strong as a steel beam .
I had a scary moment on the street back in 2005 when I took a mate for a 'quick' drive locally and accelerated to approx 200kph rapidly and had to
negotiate what seemed like a slight bend in the road before braking and turning back into my work street .
As I passed thru the bend I realised that it wasn't going to happen as I had planned and I drifted across the neighbouring 2 lanes to keep the car
stable without applying too much pressure to the alloy beam . We returned to WPVW safely with my mate a rather pale shade of grey , to discover that
the right front tyre had made contact with the guard and the front beam had shifted 10mm in the framehead .
I would strongly recommend chassis stiffener bars from the pan to the lower beam tube if you were going to use an alloy beam on the street as this
will assist with beam support under hard braking and cornering .
Love the updates mate , keep em coming ...... and see ya at Sydney !!

Yep... To slide into the torsion housing... Should make alignment and good weld penetration a snack...
And thanks for the advise Wayne.... The POS is no longer a street car, so cornering is not really an issue, but thanks for the tip and the
support..
Looking forward to Sydney. I reckon a beer or three might have to be sampled.

Went to the track last night.... Shouldn't have cause I have loads of work to at school.... But eeehh!
Anyway.... The new clutch plate I got from Rodney worked really well.... The Stage III is sweet on the pedal and the KEP gold disc I had in the car
before is working fine.... The adjustment on the clutch changed little over the course of the night...
Reuben was there to give me a hand and is muchly appreciated.... Took some nice pics too!
Car went exceedingly well....
He posted a video on FB too, but I can't figure out how to link directly.... But here is the FB link....
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151490165268638&set=vb.606858637&am...
Broke the rhs axle on the last run, just before staging.... Lucky Tom Laube and Reub was there to give me a hand pushing is back to the pits.
