A bit of a delay with the tuner, he's had a few headache cars to deal with and he asked me to delay bringing the car up.

this is what was done to the motor

Block has been doweled to prevent cylinder wall splitting
14 mm head studs fitted
Manley forged pistons
Argo I beam rods
Race bearings
New EJ257 crank
Full blue print of motor
Genuine 11 mm oil pump
New genuine water pump

The engine builder put a limit of 8000 rpm, 30 psi and 400 kW, it will be up to what the turbo can handle. you can really feel the difference the stroker crank makes, it should bring everything on sooner, turbo is GTX30/76 with a .63 rear housing and I don't want to do this again

Car is still at the tuner, the tuner has issues in the past getting the variable inlet cams to make any difference in the the way the car runs, Adaptronic have now supplied a new ECU which is their latest version in the Modular series

I picked up some motor insurance today, an Accusump. I had one years ago but my son used it on his drift car so I had to buy another one.

They give you pre oiling before starting the motor and also make up for oil surge causing the motor to drop oil pressue

Red blue green 3 boost settings
Pink is old setup

it made 305 kw on 29 psi, the smaller rear housing is hurting the top end but it also made 200kw at 4,500 which is really impressive, catching the train up tomorrow to pick it up

I also fitted an intercooler temp gauge, the intercooler is working fine

Steve, even with that housing it's 305kw at 6100rpm!!
That would be soo streetable to drive.
Looks like you're going to have a grin from ear to ear when you pick it up :)

Thanks Dino, its a blast to drive, I could chase more horsepower with a different rear housing or bigger turbo but I think what I have now is more usable

Thats some sweet power mate!!

I popped mine on the dyno the other day to play with the off boost/around town tune and turned my boost down to 14psi as I have had some traction issues in first and second and made 204kw atw.

Benefits of having a dirty big box in front of the engine for your power!!

Love your work..

Thanks Boof I will have to take you for a spin in it, the noises coming out of the air intake are so good, I thought the air filter would dampen it out

Hi

I've been driving the car around and having fun. I need to do a little body work where it meets the pan, it didn't line up properly with the hoop over the transmission. As soon as I get that done I will start doing some speed events, carefully.

I got my Accusump hooked up, that was a lot harder than I expected, the line wanted to run into everything. I relocated the oil filter under rear mudguard and the Accusump is under the back seat.

Hi

I was driving past a weighbridge yesterday so I thought I would pop in to get the car weighed, it came out at 1160 kg the same as when I weighed it ready to race at WISID, I emptied the boot but forgot the scissor jack and it still had almost a full tank, so about 20 odd kg there so I think it is lighter.

Hi

Motor has been out of the car for a bit now, going back in this weekend.

I just put my entry in for the Gunnedah 1/2 mile race on Gunnedah Aerodrome in September, I hope I get a start.

I need to sort a few things like the launch control and get some Ks on the motor.

Thanks guys, the runway at Gunnedah is very bumpy near the end, I think Im going to look at some front aero, it was getting a bit hairy at about the 700 metre mark and the car squatted the rear the whole length of the track

not sure if this video will play https://www.facebook.com/davejcarter/videos/10157671811864908/?t=0

I put a new radiator in the week before the event, it worked perfectly, I used one from a 944 Porsche, really nice fit, thanks to boys at Westside for helping out again with fan mounts.

with my intercooler temp gauge I was able to keep an eye intake temps, we used the ice box again, at the finish line intake temps were 90c after the turbo and 22c after the inter cooler, I was leaving the line with after coolers temps of around 18c

We setup the launch control and on the first run I fried the clutch, I nearly put it on the trailer but I let cool down and then I granny shifted it from then on

This is the Porsche 944 radiator that I used, I bought it on eBay $199 delivered, the brand is ASI, I have one in my 180, my son has one in his drift car and he also had turbo Ford Laser with one as well, no failures.

Westside welded on mounts for the fan and intercooler radiator
