yeh sorry guys
in the rush for compact attack
forgot to post
i'll put up the sheet later
but we got 225rwhp @ 7300 rpm
its ok but brad & i think we've still got more in it
hey dangerous we seem to be getting exhaust temps ok
but head temps seem to get really high quickly for some reason
(thought on methanol we'd run cooler)
& it seems to be hunting on idle
any thoughts????

Wow!
That is more power than I have!
Roller cams generally get a bit of a hunt at idle,
but that can also be from the poor atomisation that methanol sized nozzles have,
(unless you use two smaller ones in each port).
Yes even with EFI.
I noticed my idle changed with the short exhaust I use too.
Head temps should be lower than with petrol based fuels,
but when you make power you also make heat.
Excessive ignition advance will help heads run hotter,
so you can back that off.(26 to 28 maximum!!)
Exhaust temps will be higher, but mean nothing really,
since you should tune for max power, while using lambda and exh temp purely as tools.

cheer's dave.
any help is always much appreciated.
when the fat controller finally put's up the graph you will see i think off memory a 230hp run or there about's but as soon as the temps come up
220ish is were it always goes back to.
we had it idleing nice last week keeping the heads cool with heaps of fuel, but as you had mentioned i think he has put to much timming it her.
it is also a carby cam not efi lobe centre's wise,i don't know if it makes much of a difference.but i am going to pull the manifolds of just to have
a sticky beak to see if there is maybe a small air leak.
what lambda reading's you been chasing davel.
and the funny thing is we had it on fuel last week with cooler head temp's than we currently have,so something is be amiss at the moment.
alway's something to kepp us guessing.
cya
and it's only a figure until the mph comes along to match.
p.s.the car came in @ 1410 pounds with driver.still got some more to come out of her yet but no real reason to go chasing all the weight yet.
down sharon.

Holy crap that IS light!!
I was originally aiming for 0.87 lambda,
but it torched a plug at "that",
and was down on power with the previous pill.(assuing rich!)
Went richer and it made max power with 0.82.
So in my case 0.87 was lean.
Many reasons for this, but prob the poor atomisation is what causes the bogus lambda numbers.
But remember to use lambda and exh-temp as a "tool",
and don't rely on anything being gospel.
If those power numbers are correct that will be faster than all of us!!
That is 365 lbs lighter than my car.
My guess is that Pageys car is about the same mass as yours
now that he has removed the dry sump
and has a mag case instead of the Scat case.

ok, we drove it back on the trailer, yipee.
head temp's now are alittle to cold for the tune, when it was dynoed the head temp's weret 390f,now 140,so she's running real fat.
the breather air filter is sitting right over the throttle bodies so with the cooler oil it is throwing bucket loads of oil down throttle bodie.no
biggy the engine still rev's ok,but need's to be sorted.
first run 11.8 115mph i think,i have the sheet's at home,i had a real good view of the x-mas tree, well the top of it anyway.as it disapeared from my
view any.so the car came up alittle, and i had to get of and back on it a few times.
i took of at about 6k.
second run i thought i would teach the gar a lesson buy reving it alittle higher.8k
11 something less mph as it when higher.got told buy the officials maybe we shouldn't try that one again.
so went to the pit's to cheak out were the suspension was at.the wheel alignment guy's had wound all the coil out of the rear shock's and
someone(me) hadn't checked what they had done. oop's.didn't take alot of tools so i gould only adjust the rear alittle.so last pass was a 3k take
of with the wheels up straight but still way to high ,so back of and on a few times.
all in all it was good fun but i realy need to get it back on a dyno so i can check mt fuel mixtures, and then sort out some suspesion stuff and back
out for some more fun, there should be some good pic's on the usual site,so get to it rueb, find and post buddy.
down sharon.

the only thing i hit was the ground, real hard,my back was sore this morning.
the front end (pan )hit's the floor just after the glass front hit's,so there is a few war wounds on the front of the glass ,but it's behind the
no. plate so who cares.
that was the same as the first run only alittle higher.but no grazes .it's not as close as it look's.well i keep telling myself that anyhow.
it doesn't fell that bad until you come off the gas and hit the ground.when it goes straight i would like to stay on it to see what it does.i think
it should carry the wheel's for a bit.
it's heaps of fun,i can't wait to get it back out for some more testing.
there was heaps of photograper's takin pic's so i can't wait to see them.

i only have 2 slip's
one is 1st run
1.702 60ft
7.639 1/8 with 95mph
115mph 11.84
wheels were up pretty high and going for the tree.
2nd was worse lift wise.
60ft 1.882
1/8 7.76 94.27mph
115mph
camera phones aren't the best way to get footage but they will have to do when the fat controller fogets the camera ,nice one stock.
