Wow Jen...
You must be absolutely rapt. How good is Ingrid? I was showing the pics to a good friend at work who has recently bought a 62 and a half and we were
just sitting there, mouths open and speechless. Congratulations. Bel's gonna be the star of the show at the Day.
Did you get my email re door trims?
Cheers

My email server is down so can't get my emails right now but I'll keep checking. You still have a bit of time...lots of things still to be done
before the door trims are needed :thumb

That's a full on job you had done Jenz, but worth it because she looks magnificent.
Where did you get the rag top from? Is it from a donar car or a repo?
Looks like they had the car for a while, alot of other cars came and went during the process. Enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Thank you
I thought I was going to have to search for this thread somewhere on page 3
I've just ordered new number plates....Figured it was getting near that time.....
I'm going for the old style black and white with VIC at the top... They only give you a choice of numbers between GAA 000 & LZZ 999.....GUB___
was issued back in 1958...so could have gone for GUB 158 and got that but went for GVW 158 which was available instead...
Couldn't get VWT 158 in this style cos it is a future issue number...could only get it in the current standard style and would have cost me $105
more!!:jesus
So my plates will mean...Genuine VW Type 1 1958 model :thumb
I dropped all of the chrome bits off at the electro platers 3 weeks ago and they'll be ready to be picked up on Friday.....then I'll go to check on
Bel again
The wait has slowed work down a bit on Bel as Ingrid needs them to finish off her work
When I rang on Friday to tell them Mick said they had Bel's engine and the exhaust system back in ...all painted up and looking very smick
I can't wait to see her again and take more pics

Hey Jen
Dropped in to see Bert and noted that Bel is looking very fine. I have also bought black & white plates. When I bought the car, the original rego
papers were in the drivers'manual and so I was able to order the original rego number. Have you received your pop-outs yet? I'm still waiting for my
latches and so no work has been done for 3 weeks - very frustrating.

Cool Paul!!!
Bert would have been pleased to see you...and Bel knows you're looking out for her as well
I'm going in on Friday once I pick up the chromed parts from the electro plater...Ingrid is at a stand still until she gets them....
I rang on Friday and Mick said the engine is in and exhaust system on...all painted up!! Can't wait to see her
You were lucky you had the papers telling you the original registration number....I had Vicroads check for me but with no luck....
The number I've chosen is kinda growing on me....I had other ideas for numbers but I couldn't have them if I wanted that style of plate
p.s. no...pop outs haven't arrived yet :cry
I emailed the guy on Friday cos I was getting worried....He tells me that he found a better pair for me and they got sent 2 weeks later than the fog
lights....Hopefully they'll be here this week :bounce:bounce
That latch is taking it's time...I can understand the frustration...Fingers cross they arrive this week as well:sandrine
