Have not noticed many waves until recently (abt. the last year), since when Bertie has been getting lots of waves from other Beetles. Have initiated
a few, usually get a return wave; but have given up on Kombi's as they seem to ignore poor Bertie. Kids (on footpath) point at Bertie now a lot, &
sometimes call out, which I'd never noticed before. All kids seem very Beetle-conscious, BUT we get the occasional "what on earth is that?" look
in the type 3! :duh |

I love it when people point at my Bug! :P
I've noticed kids are indeed very aware of them, especially little tackers.... but I've had old people pointing and smiling as I drive past, and I
get waved at my people driving New Minis, New Beetles, Mercs and Beemers, and thumbs up from guys in utes! I've lost count of the amount of times
people pull up at lights leaving a huge gap in front of them, and drive along slowly perving on my Bug... especially truckies.

Well, this morning was awesome on my way to work (well mostly awesome)...
Saw 2 black New Beetles along Toorak Rd, and received smiles from them so I smiled back  .... then I saw a greeny-coloured Kombi. I smiled at the old dude driving it, he looked at me and my car so I waved (still smiling,
was a nice clean Kombi!) and he just looked away!  Hope it was no one on here... anyway, not long after this I saw another black New Beetle, and I got a smile and a nod for my car! What is the deal
with old veedub drivers when the Newies are more friendly towards old Dubs??
Anyway, on the way to my bf's place I saw ANOTHER black New Beetle, but this one was a Cabrio with the roof off, very cruisy.... .... then I saw an old white Beetle parked on the side of the road. Needed
some TLC! In traffic on Princes Highway a very swish-looking pale lemon New Beetle Cabrio drove past a few lanes over, and then I saw another old
white Beetle!
On the home from my bf's place, there was yet ANOTHER old White Beetle! It was a convertible with P-plates on Lindsay St in Murrumbeena. And yep, you
guessed it, then I saw another New Beetle on North Road..... in black..... LOL
Those New Beetles were out in force today!!  It was nice to get
smiles and nods from them.... not like that so-and-so of a Bay Kombi driver.

This morning at about 7:30am I spotted the dark purple Bay Kombi with the blue roof on Burwood Highway opposite the huge Burwood Kmart.
Then I saw my usual black New Beetle, and a nice flashy Red one!! They look great in red.... would be better as a Cabrio!

This morning about 9:40am, spotted a BEAUTIFUL looking turquoise bug with shiny hubcaps at the intersection of Maroondah Hwy and Mt.Dandenong Rd in
Ringwood. Didn't get a chance to wave though, as I was turning and changing gears, but I gave the dude a big smile!

This morning about 7:30am, I caught up to a pale green Beetle (QEJ976) that had faded black flared guards.... it had such skinny little tyres, and the
back right guard looked like it had bites taken out of it! Was pretty ratty, and I didn't even get smile returned for mine so I hooned off! :P

hehe... im always driving up through the dandenongs on weekends... just for fun... cos im in eltham i come through warrandtye and ringwood to get
there and im always on the lookout for your little blue bug but ive not seen it yet.. one day maybe

This morning about 7:30am or so, had a nice wave from a lady in her olive Camper Kombi!
And then on Burwood Road past Glenferrie Rd (around 8:20am) had a wave from the faded blue Beetle I've seen a few times.

Tehehe, there's a Kombi and a Bug at the end of my street!
In the carpark of Upwey Church (next to the roundabout at the top Main St) there was a very clean looking chocolate brown L Bug with gravel guards....
and in front of that was a pale blue bay Kombi! Anyone's off here? I think the brown Bug was at DOVW for sale? Could be wrong, but haven't seen
another one in that colour.

Got a nice wave from a young chap in his off-white Beetle on Burwood Rd this morning about 8am.... then I saw a BEAUTIFUL silver Porsche 356 again on
Burwood Rd.... then as I was turning into Burnley St a little tan P plater Beetle was about 5 cars ahead of me!
Oh, last night I was with my Mum in her blue CR-V, and a pale grey-white Beetle hooned up the mad mile in Upper FTG. It was flying! I noticed he had a
green 'Volkswagen Club of Vic' sticker across the back window, and number plate was REX-889. He was stopped at the Mobil getting fuel when we
finally caught up.

The past 2 weeks I've been seeing this GORGEOUS looking Type 3 Squareback, glossy black with roofrack and lowered, parked on Camberwell Rd outside
Avanteous. Who's is it?? I want to swap cars! My sister works
there, so I'm going to get her on the case of finding who's it is.... mwahahaha!!

Just went to Ringwood and back, saw three Kombis and 3 Beetles!
The best Beetle was in the underground carpark of Eastland, near the JB Hifi entrance. It was ivory coloured and had cute 'lil curtains in the back
window, and a sticker saying 'Miss Daisy'... wheels complete with whitewalls, was a very neat looking Dub!

I spotted Stuy this morning in his Gold Baja around 7:30am at the Mountain Gate intersection, but I wasn't in my Bug so he wouldn't have known it
was me!
Also saw Mandy's yellowy Kombi at the petrol station near Knox again.
