Its coming along well Pete - it will look shmiko when its all in yellow and it starts to go back together. Did the cage need some paintwork as well where changes/additions were made, or has this already been done (or will wait for another time)?

Fingers crossed for the delivery from the US - hope it arrives sooner than later!

Looking great Pete!
Seems like the work is almost unending ... but commitment will get it over the line.
Are you still looking for the 45 dells?
Let me know so I have time to get them out and to you.
cheers

Allan ,cage touch ups half done ,from Can of paint . Still painting other things satin black ( shocks ,fans and more )
Marcus , I will make decision on other car this week ,maybe half sum .

Hi Pete

Haven't been on here for a while but I must say this looks very impressive!

It was good to see you today even if we didn't get much of a chance to have a chat.

Look forward to see the Yellow 1 back on track!:thumb

Engine box is still tuff to fit on .It seems after paint things have changed a little ?
Few more pics anyway !Door cards are from BigWig race cars from USA . Don't know when I will have my first skid !as I missed Warwick date .
Maybe a few shows ,first.

Been abit slow in shed since warwick event . Last week fitted windows to car . Flush mounted windows made from lexan with black painted edge (36mm wide ) . They have countersink holes for mounting ,then used stainless screws for fitting which screw straight into body ( 9mm above window edge ) Window shape was made by measuring up 12mm from horizonal window edge ,then tapping tracing paper over whole window ,then tracing window new marking onto paper , then transfer onto lexan .
Cut windows out with a fine cut off wheel ,then smoothed the edgers out with sander , then shamfer down inside edge to about 1half mm (lexan is 3mm) and 10mm wide . Pics soon

It was great to see the old girl out after her long service leave break which aparently she was due for after 16 years hard service and it looks as though you spent her long service payment well.
And congratulations to Lisa on your great DVD of the Warwick Weekender 2007

Yep !slowly geting there . After taking car down to ColdCoast show and effort removing it on and off trailer (hard work from car very low ,trailer high ,can't push on back of race car body ) Came home ,got grinder out and cut back off it . Than a bit more thinking ,I decided to build a complete new chassis for trailer . Trailer will be lower with drop down tail , wheel tracks will be sunken down 50mm and lighter in weight . Will post Pics soon .

Well back to race car ,tin work still slowly happening . But paint work is still in my mined and found this usa painted bug with flames job that is exactly what I wanted. Tell me what you think ?
Colours off flames maybe satin black and silver with green ,blue ,purple tips .
Same car with two different flame jobs ,second one has my vote !

Looks bloody tough - flames can either make or break a car, but adhering to a design similar to the above will ensure it looks the goods!

Thanks Pete ,I remember your trailer .Yep !! Flames do look great when done right .
Trailer has been started with outside frame ( 75mm x 50mm x2mm ).I want to keep it very lite as I can , all steel was seconds which was half price (for full lengh).
Trailer size is small car only ( 3950mm L x 1870mm W ) Loading end has a 100mm drop down on tail ,for easy car loading ,all Joins are cut at 45".
I wanted no over hang of race car past trailer frame ,in pics you can see basic frame shape ( wheel runners will be about 420mm wide to fit narrow front beams ), Will keep old axle with leaf springs but will use lowing blocks to keep it low .
Have any questions and more updates soon . Old tailer tows great but to high ,was built like a table top .

Little bit more done now that christmas is over !! Trailer frame is looking good .You can now see the basic shape coming together . The cross brace in tyre runner at front and back is where the wheels will sit !
Next middle chassis joiners and look at aframe lenght .May also make it a tilt trailer as well .
