Great work, like you say it takes guts to cut one up!
So are you going to chop the windscreen? I think you need to.
Have you considered a beam extension?

Hi. Cool project. The bare metal with candy flames are a nice touch. My mod plate guy has given me the thumbs up for cycle guards and suicide doors on
my little project, but I can't find an ADR approved beam extension, so I think I'll run it around for a month or so without one, and then just sneak
it in there and see if anyone notices : ) What beam extension Officer??? Oh, and if you don't use the fat front wheels, can I buy them???
Please????? I need 2 widened stockies and can't find any. Keep up the good work.

Did a bit more work, got 135 x 15's on the front now, not sure if I like them? They are growing on me!
Rims are powder coated red now.
Started making the rear guards.
Bit more cutting here and there!
Post some pictures soon.

P.S I'm doing a windscreen cut, just not sure how low? 100mm??
Anthony have done everything myself so far, taking the body off was easy, putting it back on was tough!! Happy to share my knowledge, I'll give you
call, use to have a VW night, mates came round and discuss what to do next and tinker a bit. Haven't had one in a while.

don't know if this helps, but if you are having trouble with the gearstick spinning, i used a stick from a kombi it has a small rod at the bottom i
just made a nitch in the beatle gear ror and no more spinning

Been Working on other projects, but will be back on this one soon.
Having problems getting the windscreen cut down. It's a 1969 beetle so has tempered glass ( can't be cut, without shattering).
Any suggestions?
Thinking about getting a flat screen and modifying the windscreen frame?
The indicators are LED motorcycle ones. Made of solid steel, got them from the states. $200 the set. Worth it though.
Few other additions
* Key-less Ignition, from jaycar, now just uses a small button key ring to start the car.
* Soft top, that is in the process of being modified to fit cut down screen, if I can get it cut down!
That is it for now, i'll post some Photo's soon!!

Hi All
Back onto Rene (french for Re-Born) again. Did some electrics on her and now has keyless ignition. I am now looking for a motor.

Made some bumpers for the rod, cut the existing off and welded some rods on the ends, cheap, but look Great!1

Thanks for looking, the plans I have require a roll bar, but my engineer has informed me that if the car is only used on road it will not need a roll
bar. the screen is made of polycarbinate for now, not legal! Still deciding what to do about a windscreen, will probably have a flat screen cut and
modify the frame.
