I've been pretty quiet about the sprints, since I'd ended up with family commitments that weekend. But it now sounds like I may be able to juggle things slightly.... so there's a possibility...

(thanks Daimo for the gentle hassling about being soft btw ;) )

Damo, I don't have any that go around corners anymore

Besides, if i was going I wouldn't be driving a vw !!!!

Pity about the low numbers.....this will be a great event.

Soft.....what's the rag top, show pony???......it has a roll cage, four wheels and 138HP of totally reliable 1916, what more do you need?

GREAT SIDES!.....and don't take it to hard, i've been hassling everyone so the event will fill and we can do it again next year..more the merrier!

yes, my concern about the low numbers is that this might be a one off return to racing at the Nats without a decent response......C'MON it's such a great learning experience no matter what size engine or handling specs.......surely learning how your car handles in a safe enviroment is worth the time and effort.

last year i couldn't believe the size of the grid at Warwick, yet the couple of cicuit events that are put on at great time and expense on behalf of the organisers struggle big time......add up the seat time!!!!........i like Craig T's thought on how much $$$$ would the coppers fine be if caught testing your new donk or handling improvements on the street:punk:

Wayne Penrose is taking 3 cars, Boris is running in Georges car. The others are invited. One or more got personal invites.

90% of the cars running dont have race prepped handling Craig. If you wanted to do it, you'd be there. There's no other excuses.

I'm always humbled when people make the effort to support the drag racing events hosted by VWMA. Therefore, I always try, where deadlines permit, to return the support for VW events around the country.

When it comes to motorsport events, I'm not so good at spectating, so over the last six months I have been working on my Fvee, and all going well with the practice at Morgan Park tomorrow, I'll be there racing at the sprints. I just have to remember that there are corners to go around....

For you Rose, sure thing (I'll just need to check with the clerk of the course first).

Practice went well today. A few minor things to sort, but overall a very good day. 3 sessions of 8 laps. The Rapiers were also out for some practice.

Craig H......

just had a thought that it might be worth asking the company/guys that did the video footage DVD at Warwick 2008, if they would be interested in covering the supersprint.............they certainly did a great job and from memory, they didn't charge a fee, just made the return out of the DVD's sold?.................i know how hard is to get good film's of thse events, broken promises etc.....

where were they based?

..........i'll sign up for a couple of copies........one for Craig Torrens so he can see what he missed out on

oh dear Craig, i understand any four digit number apart from 1916 freaks you right out.....so i'll pay that one :fakesniff:.....

but bare with me here

retort...

yeah, i did build it myself, in between 3 jobs, family, big kids and small kids, fixing the rest of the car to be ready for it and someone elses race car too......it's not rocket science despite what some people would have you believe.......then you know what i did???.....took it out for the exact purpose it was built for ..........propelling a VW, not dyno

you should just equip the bat cave with an engine dyno, save having all those VW's gathering dust and rust.....be a lot cheaper:lol:........hell you could store the dyno and full catalouge of slighlty different "spec" specials in the space that just one of those beetles takes up
