More Ithchyness!

This is day two of the fibreglassing, and good thing you say that pete cos there was more cutting including the bumps for the head lights and wipers. The body came off the pan and was turned over. The rest of the day was spent glassing the hole for the fuel filler, the holes where all the bumps were and the other side of the crack in the side plus various smaller ones, also reparing the point of the left hand front guard. That is pretty much it for the fibreglass, so off to Custom on the 7th Dec for the cage!

Cheers Dave!

Here's some pics of the glassing on the under side.

Quick Update, not alot has happened as I have been waiting for my booking date at custom vee dub but the time has finnaly come and the car is in the shop as i speak having the cromoly roll cage, seat mounts shifting rod and harness mounts all being fitted. Also mounting the steering column and intermediate solid mount on the gearbox.

I have also been in touch with Rod and shall be flying down to sydney early in the new year to recieve my rather large basket of goodies from the recent U.S.A. trip!
There is also a complete Draw through turbo kit in there for me too, cant wait to see it all.

So from me merry xmas everyone!

Cheers Dave!

Front Tyres

Hey, I just got some formula vee tyres off Craig Hughes for the front of my car. They are 5.5" wide and went on my 4"x15" rims. Thanks again Craig, I think they look pretty good!

Cheers Dave!

Bugger! The tyres leaked air over night so i pumped them up and stuck them in the pool.

I found that the tyres were leaking through the side walls and also one rim was leaking through the weld.

I think I'll put some tubes in if i can find some that fit through the valve holes i already have. Other wise I will have to seal that rim and get new tyres:fakesniff:

Cheers Dave!

Do you mean leaking through the bead, or the actual sidewall? Because if they are leaking through the sidewall, get new ones! any repair you do would be patching an issue, and would be quite unsafe. also, if there is a leak in the rim, get it welded!

Hey eveyone, Update time again!

The cage is moving along nicely, sorry no pics of that just yet, and I just got back from Sydney last night after flying down to see Rod and go to the Top Gear Live show(which was awesome.) I spent the whole day just about at Rod's on sunday, we went through and pretty well put all the parts required to finish the car, brakes spring plates axle's, steering wheel, fuel tank etc... on a crate to come home, bar the engine. Altough here's some pic's of the Turbo kit which was included in my spending frenzy!

"mmmmmm", alot more pic's to come once all this stuff lands!

Cheers Dave!

Cool man! Can't wait to see your buggy go.
Looks like a T04 exhaust flange and a 'B' series turbo. Do you have the specs on it.
Is the webber set up for alcohol?

Well to be perfectly honest I am a little in the dark on this one Aaron, All we know is it came off a sand rail car and yes we 'guessed' a to4. Rod hasn't pulled the carby down so unsure what's inside? either way i'll be stickin to pump fuel for now!

Craig Hughes said he would stow my goods away in his Drag Rat and smuggle them over the border for me in exchange for some storage fee's for the Drag Rat!

you may want to modify the spring plates with a locking bolt, or when you "back off" or brake really hard the rear will lift up.
