'69 Squareback

I was the owner of this car in the '90s and have some pics of it when I sold it in 2001. I recognised it due to its rarity and a few specific marks (the Klaack Motors sticker from where I used to get it serviced, the ding in the back panel under the rear door, the dent in the chrome bumper at the back from a bus in Cabramatta, the slight colour difference in the front left panel which was a replacement after an ambulance ran into the car in Liverpool) and I could go on!!! So great to see the old girl looked after and looking good! Could tell you some interesting stories about the car.....!! Can repost scanned versions of the pics if you're interested.

One story..

Can't resist but tell you about one time I was driving the car up through Epping in Sydney and came to the Epping Road overpass (four lanes either side, lots of cars) and pulled up to the lights a turning lane. Suddenly heard a huge bang, clutch and accelerator jammed, engine revved, car stopped and engine stalled. I got out of the car, looked behind and saw pieces of the engine on the road for about 20m behind the car. I looked under the car and saw the engine had fallen out !! The engine mount had snapped (having been broken and welded together many years before by a previous owner) and the engine had fallen straight through to the ground. Quite a sight when the tow truck dragged it and the engine scraping up on the back of the truck! Few weeks and a reconditioned engine later and I was back on the road...

It only 3kms away. I sold it to a guy with too much money.
I had no time spare time for it and wanted to build a huge deck off the back of the house.
A mutual friend bring it around every time he takes it for a cruise.
The new owner got the engine fixed.
I do get a bit jealous seeing it around.
