She runs but wont be racing this year. Gearbox is very noisy and I dont want to be the person who makes a mess on the track and then has to try and
get a car home on a trailer or tilt tray. Plus I head overseas this friday for a bit so funds will be a bit tight when I return so no chance of
entering.....

Hi All,
Now that issue#31 has been put to bed, it's back onto drag racing matters.
Preparations for VW Warwick continue along smoothly. Always a popular start to the weekend, the Street Parade returns to the programme on Saturday
morning, with the usual display of drag cars in the park. Tappet Cover racing is also on Saturday night after the driver and crew dinner. Robins
Catering who put on the wonderful feast last year are back again, and there will be a guest speaker this year to talk about Australian drag racing and
the VW scene in general. Racing on Sunday will repeat the successful Portland debut of the Top VW Shootout, as well as the usual classes of Aircooled,
Watercooled, VW Bodied, Special and Trikes. Cash prize money is up for grabs again for the winner and runner-up of the Top VW Shootout.
Congratulations to Rose Merrett and John Barrett for scoring equal honours for first entry. One arrived via snail mail, the other email. The VWMA
Warwick website section is still under construction, but should be operational by the weekend. The two options of entering and paying online, or
printing the form and posting cheque/money order will still be available. I know I say this every year, but earlier is better for entries for me to
organise, and having the correct number of people listed for catering is a must - at Portland I had to turn late dinner enquiries away. The dinner is
limited to 100 people, so it's a case of first in.
The Warwick dragway have been busy with some track and ground improvements, and more are planned for next year. The Qld wet season late last year and
early this threw a few plans astray, but the club has managed to get back to business. Remember please that camping at the track is non-powered and
the use of generators is permitted providing they are switched off at a reasonable hour.
As it happens every year, I have much to do to my race car before the event, but I will be driving not watching (where's the fun in that?!)
See you on the track.
Cheers

Buggy will be there, but with a guest driver. My rail is not yet ready, although I may take it up there for display. I'm either in the Fvee again or
in the tower. Such is drag racing and publishing....
