Engine scrubbed up nice.
Make sure you fit the PCV hose and the breast plate tinware (between the engine and the valance) before you start using back on the road or your cook it.
Both are missing in the pic.

Seats

So i got stuck in and pulled appart the drivers vw beetle stock seat I had to use the base/frame/runners as a base for my new SAAS Sports/Racing Seats.

One you take the 2 side bolts offand remove the backrest from the beetle seat, the base vynil and spring sections un-clip off the steel frame.

All I Have to do now is Weld some pick up tabs securely to the vw base/frame to bolt the seat securely to the runners.

Then i will pickup the passenger, stock beetle seat and do same to it as i don't have it as yet.

Dylan, I didn't get a chance to drop over the hose for you, but I left it just outside my garage door if you want to pick it up during the week. Otherwise, I will try and drop it over next weekend.

Those seats are going to be GREAT. Good job.

Hi Dylan

Those seats look a bit high and if you have a growth spurt you might end up hitting your head on the roof.

I ended up cutting the side oval section of the base in half in my sons bug, it ended up looking like very flat U and welded some angle steel running north south and them soem 25 mm tube running across between the two side sections.

Steve,

Thanks for that Information.

They Seem higher then they are really, but I'm not real sure how they gonna be yet cause it will be up to the engineer who does the welding on the bases. Jeff's Bug Seats are higher and wider then mine and he still got his good lol. I Think Jeff's Taller than me too. But yes there is a lot that needs to be considered when making up and securing the seats.

The Bug was meant to go into get Blue Slip-ed but after a test drive round the block, realised it was only running on 3 cylinders

After we tuned it and got it running good so not real sure whats going on with it.

Also Had Rubbin on the front gaurds from 6" wide wheels on front. so back to Stocks on the Front We go.
a Mate who is quallified ticketed welder welded up plates on my drivers seat frame and then we bolted up and installed the drivers seat, and we will do the same to the passenger seat sometime after the 24th when i get the other seat base.

Weird Problem with the headlights too, with ignition on they work fine but as soon as you start the car the RHS headlight goes out and is only left with the parker bulb working
