My daughter stripped the car helped take the paint off. She will do some of the welding and lots of the sanding for the paint. She will be doing the
all important reassembled.
I love upsetting purists. But I like to keep in the era of the cars if that makes any sence . My idea for a first car is to put your stamp on it so
that you enjoy it and care for it . I have never been one to be the same as the mainstream. It looks like it has rubbed of on my first two kids.

Had a bit of motivation when I got home from work today. Seeing that I have got the LED blinkers sorted. Time to delete the old horrible blinkers and
have smoooooth guards.
THIS IS WHAT I STARTED WITH
MADE A PATCH UP FOR IT
LITTLE BUGGER HAD SOME SHAPE IN IT TO
TACK IT IN
LAY SOME BIRD POOP ON IT
GRIND SOME BIRD POOP OFF THIS IS WHAT WAS LEFT
It took about 2.5 hours to do both sides. Small progress but still progress

Hi guys /girls a bit has happened since the last time I have been on here. First I'm not going to make the dead line but it will get done. A few
things have good things have happened. From me being slack I had to get surface rust off the car and get Boris into etch primer.after that the
straitening begins. Oh and princes gets to use a spray gun for the first time. She done well I think.
Here she is having a dig.

This is some of the surface rust that we took off. It was a bit of a job but that is what happens when you get slack. It creates more work.
I would like to dedicate the next few pics to the ROLLING STONES.......bahahahahah

I was glad I I had to take it back again as I didn't spot these rust spots the first time only small bit they were nearly all the way through. Got
them anyway.
This is what I have after I drilled them out
I'm very happy with the hood lips on this car
one of the rear guards ready to be etched

just thought i would show you something and give some younger guys something to think about. This just goes to show you how far a a small pin whole of
rust can go. So when you are repairing a pin whole think about what is going on,on the other side of the panel. Sorry about the quality of the pics.
That turns into this

Hello again. There hasn't been to much progress on the car as Princess turned the big 18. So I'm glad to get that out of the way now to get Easter
out of the way to. I'm going to let the Cat out of the bag on our interior choice and car colour choice.
This car has already got people taking by people liking and hating and some not sure .How we came to these decisions on these choices was alot of
talking, looking at cars and mixing different elements from lots of influences. Not just on Princess but what is going on in the world with car
restorations. I hope it works.
This car is a real testament to princess as she has never followed the crowed and goes out and dose her own thing. To me this is what I have tried to
install onto all my kids. Princess has accepted it fantastically. Which it shows in the way that this car hopefully will turn out. So there will be
haters and there will be lovers. One thing is for sure we would like to know your thoughts.
THIS IS ABOUT THE THIRD COLOUR WE CHOSE FOR THE CAR.
THIS INTERIOR CHOICE WELL DID OUR HEADS IN BUT ONE ALL DONE WE THINK IT WILL WORK. THIS IS THE BACK SEAT WITH HEATER DUCTS

Hello yet again some more work has been done. BOOF has had enough. Time to get this thing doing. He and his work mate along with princess have pushed
the old man aside. Ha Ha. They are trying to get me motivated and doing a good job of it to. They are taking semmi control of it now. BOOFS work mate
is a gun painter and is wanting to paint the car....... might have to be a mexican stand off with that one....Ha Ha but the kid is a gun at it and I
might step aside. The other night straight after thier work the cam home and got stuck into BORIS. They had a look at the roof and the best way was to
give the whole roof a smear of bog if We were going to get the rounded roof straight or a nice flowing curve. The roof had way to many small dents in
it to try and fix it any other way.
It was good to see that these three working together especially BOOF and PRINCESS. After all they are brother and sister. I called my wife out to have
a look and we both had a feel good moment seeing them going at it.
Earlier in the day princess and I had a dig at the car as well I reworked some of the parts on the back that I wasn't happy with and got one of the
sides close to straight. the boys later in the evening ran a speed file over the work that I had done. I was happy some small fixes needed but happy
over all. So it ended up being a big day.
HERE IS A SMALL VIDEO OF THEM GOING AT IT
Sorry on the quality but I was cooking on the BBQ getting the dinner ready. I was a fair distance way and wanted to capture a Kodak moment of what was
going on. There is another video which is longer but this is good enough for the forum to see what was going on

What a great thread to follow! Well done to Princess, yourself, BOOF and co. The work involved is amazing and the LEDS and tail-lights... wow. Its
such a good thing seeing family getting caught up in the effort of making a Dub your own. Cant wait to see the final results. A really individual car
for a really individual lady!

Hi to all again. what can I say i have been slack lately.( dew to that thing called work ) But the boys and the GIRL have been busy. The car isnt that
far from going into final primer. They have been doing the old having a few beers in the garage thing and working on cars. It has been good to see
when I come home from work at about 7.30ish . I can see a strong friendship between Boof and his coworker and a brother and sister relationship get
stronger. So as a father I am proud to see that the old garage build is still Living on and the old car is doing alot more that just getting restored.
Its building friendship and bonding family members with last but not least memories. Anyway rant over I had the day off and had a little dig Myself.
In an attempt to brag the interior back a few years I have taken some interior sections back to steel. These will be painted the same as the exterior
colour.
ONE OF THE NIGHTS THE BOYS GOING FOR IT
STILL A LONG WAY TO GO BUT NOT TO FAR ........... sorry for the bad pics

Things are a little slow as it is cold out in the shed. But all that needs to be done is boot and bonett lids and two guards. Getting them back to
straight / curved is proving hard from All the last repairs. But in saying that not tooooooo much to go we just need motivation

Just saw this thread. I like the lights you did but they look like LEDs and thought they were very directional and would be on too much of an angle to
be seen clearly. Correct me if I'm wrong though. They still look good.

they are directional but. They nearly stand up straight and are 10000000000000000000 times brighter than the standard lights Ha Ha. if you manage to
get straight in line with the light they will burn you retina. The rear lights are adr approved so they must have been tested for Australian
standards. The front indicators are the same in brightness if you can not see them you would have to be legally blind or worse.....

Small up date we have nearly got the interior ready for colour. But still a way off. It is getting a little exiting when you seem to be able to see
colour. Some how it seems to up the ante a bit. They are small steps but still none the less still some steps.

Me and Princess did a trip to the virtual lollie shop. WOW what a place and a real easy user friendly site that was. even I could find stuff on it. If
you are interested its cpi1.com. man are those prices cheap as f@#k. We bought
2 X Chrome headlight rims
2X Chrome Side air vents
2X Door handles
2X Running board hardware kits
7 Piece polished stainless steel body molding kit
2X seals for mirrors
1X 50 plastic body molding clips
2X chrome plastic window moldings
2x Crystal headlight with amber led turning signal
2 polished aluminum running boards
25 feet of white fender beading
Just over $500 in parts $200 in shipping as the running boards are long. Hope they make it here straight. they are comming from USA.
just got a few a more things to buy once they come in stock eg, rubber kits but I might sores them else wear. Loving the availability of new parts at
great prices.
