How do you reckon the notch would look with a wing on the boot like the type the put on GTR's and WRX's.

Here's a tip if you ever get the chance to go to a VW show with Rob.
Take a sponge and stand up wind as he tends to drool alot around ovals......
Saw my first split window beetle yesterday in the flesh.....man that would have made a nice baja.
Seriously though have to agree with Rob turn out was ok but nothing on last year. Couldn't blame it on the weather as it was a beautiful day i've
got a red melon to prove it. but there were some nice cars there and alot of them were in the car park.

to have them in there next to others and be part of the fun...
....hmmm...... I'm not good on roller coasters but they look fun...I luv 2 watch....

Why pay $15 to have your car in the show, when you can walk 2 meters to the carpark...it was a bit dissapointing, i didnt sell much in the swap, i
dont think people buy all that much at swaps anymore...I couldnt give a set of beetle guards away, ah well sims metal will give me $5...

Well here's my personal spin on shows.
I think especially here in Brisbane where the majority of cars are in the South East that there really isn't a great amount of "show" cars.
There's plenty of people who own and drive VW's regardless of there type who like to go to shows but are just there to look and admire.
Those that go in shows tend to be the same people all the time and therefore you tend to find that you have the same winners all the time.
Myself I tend to find "shows" overrated. Why not just have a "get together" where everyone just turns up in there cars for all to see and
admire.
Now I know your thinking what about the people who put countless hours and $ into there cars, shouldn't they be rewarded. Fair point but I ask in
return why and who are the building there cars (for). Isn't the reward owning a nice ride that gathers a crowd, makes it into a mag or is always
talked about. Sure a nice trophy is always good to look at but at the end of the day whats in the garage is far better.
As for swap meets I picked up some good bargains, a pair of chrome aircleaners especially for type 3's in perfect condition - $5, a hub cap in
perfect condition - $1 and a type3 clock (that i was told works but haven't confirmed) - $10 to me thats a swap meet genuine people just getting rid
of stuff that they don't need for fair prices that keeps everyone happy and able to keep their cars on the road.
Then there's the other group selling the same stuff at ridculously over inflated prices just out to line their own pockets and prostitute the market
and driving prices up on everything. I could give examples but I wont.
My son asked me why I don't take some of my stuff and sell it and make some money ?. My reply because at the prices some of this stuff goes for when
I wanted It I couldn't afford it which is why my shed is so full of VW parts which I may never use.
So there you have it "VW shows and swap meets according to me"
and for the record my Notch was in the carpark.

Fair comments ... and true a lot of people just plain love their VW's but don't want to get caught up in the event scene...just admire...
My entering the first show was an excercise in learning... park next to a nice ride of the same year roughly ...I get talking and learn....look at
the row see the differences... It's helped a lot, I've made friends and contacts....and I've sorta gotten attached to events but never serious
about winning just love my rides and dubbing

meeting the forum members at shows its nice to see reall peopl rather
than screen names :alien
i park in the carpark too.....my bus isnt a reall head turner :bounce i might enterit after skoolies and when i paint it...hehehehe it wont be a head
turner then either but its gonna bring the "rat-pack" back to life in the sydney area LMAO, maybey i shouldnt paint it the aye.

Its not a bad ride! quite cool.
All it needs is to have the ride height brought back to stock, and everything will be apples!

cool pyro...(and it's okay jenz hasn't noticed yet)
i'm assuming that you would fill the two holes with, say, some nice 250-300w 6x9's??? yeh..that's what i'd do
zac
(oo and make under the seat where the 1000w boss amp and 15inch sub sits.!!) it will look a treat i reckon. and it'll sound good too.

Rob Rob Rob...you can't comment on ride height untill you've experienced one other than stock. Carefull or i'll let the cat out of the bag about
the beetle you were admiring with the three lights in the guard.
I'll post some picks of the notch over the weekend i've got my old pentium 2 hooked up at the moment and haven't got the camera program loaded yet.

Hmmm, Rob loved the tail light set up on that beetle, personally its not my thing Rob, but who am i to tell you how to have your car??? He liked the
chop on it as well, i think pige deserves better, keep everything stock, thats how the factory intended it to be...just drop the ride height a little,
make the stance look a little more natural.
I heard the factory were going to introduce adjustable front beams and dropped spindles, but they out sourced it as an aftermarket accessory...

Are you going to fit new rubbers? I suggest you do, then its easy, cut the rubber on the inside with a stanley knife and push them out, you will need
someone on the oustide to support the window, it can be done by yourself but better with help
