Fitted up some GoPro's and raced it.

Discovered its slowly turning into a rocket ship.... final run at Mt Cotton was only 2/100'ths behind my best ever, and that's with having to back off for water on the track !!!

Well I made an exhaust setup so I could tuck it up just below the rocker cover, just got to put a tab on it to secure to a strap from the car, then some pot belly paint will do, then it should be good for a blue slip I hope.

Oh, and yesterday I repaired a broken throttle pedal, checked the tyres and took the baja for a blast.

Consequently, today I needed to pressure clean the mud off. :):D

Changed the clutch cable and Bowden tube. 4 hours of "F" factors doing the job solo, but got it done.

Had to adjust the clutch pedal freeplay every couple of weeks. Thought I'd change the cable. Glad I did as the picture shows. This was in the Bowden tube. Compared the old cable to the new. There was about a 5mm difference in length. Cable was obviously stretching ready to break.

Ross came over and installed the 4" narrowed beam. Perfect fit with the shock towers fitting snuggly. The leafs will be ready in a couple days, and we can start assembling this baby. I imagine there wouldnt be too many 4" narrowed beams with needle bearings floating around... hopefully it will be worth all the effort.

Replace the steering box yesterday with a new one of a good quality, TRW. Will test drive today and then can comment on Frosties post.

Also fitted 2 new longer seat belt stalks and today am playing with the passengers door opening rod as the circlip has obviously fallen off :sniffle:

Generator light came on in the beetle, and I spent 10 minutes taking a set of brushes out of a second hand generator I had, and fitting them to our ride.

All good, running fine. 10 minutes well spent.
