Hey!
Does the band need a flautist. Daughter is a Grade 6 AMEB. She did 1 year World Music and 1 year Jazz at the Conservatorium while at high school.
How do you get 2 piccolos players to play in tune together?
Shoot one!

Well I usually have a rather big aversity to flutes (coz I used to play it) but some jazz flute can sound pretty cool, and if shes done it at uni! not
bad, not bad....
Its up for other "band members" to debate |

Good on you Kai you bloody legend. here comes the turbo...
as for the digital band, we could be called the MP3s. Flute should be just fine. Wont be able to hear it over the bagpipes, banjo and 3 bass players.
Whoever counts us in better have BROADBAND or we'll have serious delay problems. I know a drummer who's way ahead of his time. Someone asked
me at a gig the other day how often we play together. I said "about every second bar".

what an interesting read
Ok by qualification and for most of my working life I was a high school Drama and English Teacher but I took long service leave about three years ago
and haven't been back..... I have done a few things in between, own my own car detailing business, relaxed, was promo manager of a night club,
relaxed writer for a magazine, relaxed and now I am Managing a Great Outdoors Camping Store and I love it and I still manage to relax ( something I
never really did when I was teaching) |

What have a singer and a drunk returning home late at night got in common?
Neither can find the Key, or find where to come in.
How do you stop a guitarist from playing?
Put sheet music in front of them.
How can you tell if the stage is level?
Drool comes out both sides of the drummers mouth!
Haha...

You know the latest crime in NY?
Drive by trombone solos.
Do you know the difference between a 'cello and a double bass?
A double bass burns for longer.
Do you know the difference between a Clarinet and a lawn mower?
Vibrato.
Do you know the difference between a seamstress and a clarinet player?
A seamstress tucks up frills...
What do you call two fretless bass players playing in unison?
A semitone.
So many drummers, so little time.
What do you throw a drowning guitarist?
His amplifier.

Occupation of choice!
Well , I've been a painter for almost 20 years and for some strange reason I'm still not sick of it yet. But I do quite a variety of tasks
not normally done by regular house painters. One week I might be stripping back the 50 year old lead paint from an old queenslander, then I might be
resurfacing an old bathtub, or sanding and polishing floorboards. Rope and harness work up on high roofs are always fun. Respraying trailer and truck
bodies put me in good stead to perfect my automotive spraying skills. 2 packs&metallics no worries ,ready to try some candy's and pearls.
2-day respray jobs in dusty backyard sheds a specialty. Also dabble in freelance gynacology(HA HA) But if I had a choice I'd learn how to make an
awesome coffee on a decent espresso machine (7 year apprenticeship in Italy) and I'd restore Volkswagens for the rest of my life!!!!:jesus

Im a chef, cooked in pubs for first 13 years and now for the past 6 years I run a aged care facility kitchen (nursing home) and have studyied
nutrition . I Cook for 30 residents, breakfast , lunch and tea and 12 "meals on wheels "clients and 25 day care clients, this is very
repetitive, sloppy, unattractive cuisine but its stress free, good money, good hours, (home at the latest 6pm) and secure. However it is time to have
a total career change and Im now studying conservation and lands management. With work, study, girl guides leading, 3 kids and 3 vws i dont get time
for much else.

Well I started out studing a variation of an engineering degree (called "Technology" , and finished a BSc in Geology.
Then spent 2 years working in an outdoor store (hiking and climbing gear shop ) before wandering around the globe for a couple of years, had to supplement this by working in a bike shop in London. The bike shop
was fun, but London not my scene.
Came back home (NZ) and studied electronics and a technical institute (much more practical than the Uni's I'd been to) and now I assemble
equipment/ sort parts orders/ arrange shipping and put out the trash
for a small Satellite Comms firm.
Keeps me outta trouble and leaves most of my weekends free.

RAAF Vans
Mate.. What do you know about the Type 2 double barn doors that the RAAF bought in the 60's? They were apparently used for spotting, recovery and
gear loads.. If poss, woould you know if there is an archive that might have this info.. Would love to get a picture series if available
