Hey Mandie,
I just have to say that these photos don't do your Kombi justice.....
IT'S SO MUCH MORE AMAZING IN THE FLESH!
It will look sooooo good when it's finished, you'll have such a show stopper there! And a definite trophy winner too...

Hi - great picumentary of the splitty reno - very inspiring.
We just bought our first Kombi (not a splitty - a '79, 2 litre) from a friend and are just getting down to cleaning it up a little, but one day we
hope to have our kombi dream like you!
Do you have the original engine and gearbox in yours? It wouldn't be very big would it - 1.3 litres or something like that? - 1.5? Are you planning
on rebuilding that too?
Would love to see some completed pics when you're finished. btw, you've just provided the inspiration to go for the colours that we want (rather
than staying original) on the lower half of our bus!
All the best,
Tom

Thanx all for your kind words. She really is starting to take shape & the light can be seen at the end of the tunnel.
Pretty_Blue_Bug you're right the photos really don't do her justice.Stu has done such a great job(as with your beautiful bug) that its hard for me
to believe its the same bus,he really has helped make my dream into a reality. As for a trophy winner, well the fact that shes a converted panel
probably takes her out of any running but i can't say i've ever really considered it an option anyway as from the very start this bus has been what
i wanted, real windows or not & i will proudly drive her loving every minute of it.
Tomnseals the engine is not original as its a 1600 twinport but all the mechanical work & brakes were done before i had the body work done & we put
the engine back in the other day & she started first go so i was very happy about that.So it will be cool once shes put back together she'll be ready
to go.I'd like to upgrade the engine maybe to a 1776 at a later date but my main focus is to get her looking good & back on the road as her engine is
& once the bank account recovers maybe think about a little more power!!!!!
Still struggling with the interior colours, just can't seem to make a decision!
Oh....Snap.....!
