Did you check this vehicle out?

We'll if you didn't see the vehicle I probably might be able to see your point. But if you did, it serves you right for buying it!!! It must not have been that bad if you supposive VW experts looked at it and only saw the rust when you got home.

I have travelled to Sydney and Melbourne and looked at various vehicles and have decided not to buy them. Just cut my losses on the airflight.

I think you should read the previous post and maybe grow up.

Haha, your obviously friends with old mate...
We did see the rust, thats why we paid what we did...was more than we 1st expected, but the issue old friend is that it was advertised as rust free, the guy we bought it off had removed the false floor and riverted it back on and still said it had no rust and removed the generator light and didnt mention the dodgy brake cylinder, but you get that in outback Queensland...

No hard feelings, just filling you in on some home truths...and dude who invited you into the discussion anyway???

For every-ones information - I never took the false floor off and then riveted it back on!!! I took the guys word for it, the one I originally bought it off of, that it was not rusty underneath, why not contact this guy to find out, it was originally advertised here. And to it being rust-free, I didn't know about the sills until Frenzix asked me to take some pics and email them to him, I then realized they were rusty and told him so and Byronbus when they got here, hence the reduced price they bought it for - $5,000, original price being $6,500 I would think that fair, as for the generator light being removed, never did touch the generator, never had to always started just fine, as for the dodgy brake cylinder, seem to recall putting in a bottle of brake fluid and said something to the effect of "It does have a leak so I've put in a bottle of brake fluid", I also put in a fan belt and tool kit just in case, but I suppose you get forgetfullness in Byron Bay dude, so every-one please don't comment until you know all the facts. Frenzix said that he was happy with his purchase after all the crap that was said. And for every-one that is going to say that I hijacked this thread, I am not, if something is said about me personally I have the right to defend myself.

More piccys as has been more progress, Today spent the whole day grinding off spotwelds and goig around edges just to clean it all up ready for welding, jackpoints are back into shape. We are goign to do all chassis/outriggers etc with POR15 before floor goes in. Passenger sill will come out as well.. thought about using metal filler but i want to do it properly and it's not going to be much more work. Used grinder and wire brush attachement to get the framework prepped and smooth. Primer on to stop any surface rust. First day in AGES without rain so we decided to take the op to get into it.
