It's quite easy Alan , a big set square ,cut everything square ,measure main rectangle shape( crossways on corners to opposite ends ) , When frame is
started keep it level ( stands or flat floor ) .
I've worked out my design from different vw car trailers I have used ( Narsty Nash ,Dangerous , dak-a -tak ).
Chassis is painted in 2pac with clear over it .Yep nearly four years off and on since started rebirth of race car .

Done tie down points for race car today .May put a few more yet ,for odd bod tow jobs .Floor runners are allso done, floor sheets will be steel for
awhile becouse thats what I have (alloy sheets latter ). Out tomorrow ,to buy steel for draw bar frame
.First Pic : front tie down ,Sec Pic : back flip up -tie down , will tie back of car cross-ways (left shock point to right tie down on trailer ) this
stops car from sliding sideways .

Thanks Westi !! from a cool fabricater like or self .I just think that ,you should all ways try your best .
Started today on drawbar ,i think i will make it a tilt trailer style .I used a string line to make a centre line ,so can work
out the length of drawbar.
A spare tyre and winch has to fit up front (900mm) Plus trailer hitch (300mm),so I decided on 4foot (from front chassis bar,1220mm) drawbar length and
there is a 100mm gain with hitch ball as well (1320).
Draw bar runs back to leaf springs (40mm off) This will be where it tilts from .I decided to have a bend in the drawbar so to have 400mm straight
section along chassis from leaf springs for a bit more strength and chassis support.
next job , fit hitch and tilt brackets .

Sorry for slow updates !! The last month has been very testing (rain & rain and more )
Trailer is now painted and rolling on wheels .Lights are next and front nose cover for race car and on the way to Portland .Hpoe to have trailer ready
for Saturday if I head to willowbank for a cruze around pits .
Race car is very close but becouse of time and money (rain slowing down detailing ) I've had to stop being so neat or finish on somethings .
Paint on glass front has played up with many cracks openning up (painter will fix but he is so bussy at shop)
In side tin is very close at being done (couple more nights )

Yes tin work finaly done (inside ),finishing off some small jobs now but time is still flying along !
Jobs , tow hook ,wheelie bar slots ,stickers , windows back in, adjust steering wheel ,fix brake leak and now I have found that i can't get 3&4
gears ( hocky stick hole wrong ,bus one )
Tomorrow afternoon off to get car ANDRA tech and this will be a test tow for trailer .
We hope to be of to Portland Wednesday morning

Portland event now a memory ,good time had by most over week-end . Race cars are never finished so I have more jobs yet to do before Brisbane hot rod
show in May-day long week-end.
Fix - paint on front of car
colour sand & polish it
Air brushing on engine lid & race name (dak-a-tak) over back window
make new right window (scratched)
Lower driver seat abit (25mm)
powder coat race tinware (silver)
Engine - conrod bolts
new drag pully (jcl)
open up fuel boil in IDA's
convert carbs over to methonal
Like I said never bluddy finished !!!!!!!!!!

The owner !is the problem when it's comes to being finished, I think ,so I'm the problem !
Air brush work is happenind as we speak ,this is his first job done so far on engine lid. Next is Dak-a-tak name over back window . There will be much
more latter ,when I save up ( flames , logo signs on bottom of car ).

Thanks for the kind words ,guys .Bruce has done a fined job and early this week he did some more work for me .
I gave him some fonts style's and he did his thing . Cool Hay !
The front nose has been sodablasted becouse paint was peeling and cracking becouse of chemical reaction ( Painters staff up )After painter reneged on
the deal to fix it ,Bruce has put is hand up to help me out ,so we can make the hotrod show next week-end here in Brisbane .Big week coming !!!!
Cobra is in for a total repaint to fix another painters poor job .

Jess and i got to see this machine last night, And i have to say. Its dam clean  .
The air brush work looks the goods but the detail in the DAK-A-TAK over the window is just awsome.
