Looks great westi - any chance you could give some info re. the line lock (ie. what brand etc?)
Also, is that just a fuel pump (?carter) you are using for your trans fluid to cooler, or is it a pump designed specifically for oil?
Cheers

Hi Westi,
gearboxes are just a hobby for me,
but I would be happy to help when the time comes.
The interesting ones still get my juices flowing with interest.
Choosing the right ratios for a particular combo can make a volksy quite a pleasure to drive,
especially when the ratio options are so many now a days.

i managed to track down some titanium for my exhaust,so i thought i would show you how time consuming it is.
it takes about 5 - 15 minutes per cut and linish each piece, then you need to make sure it all lines up ok.
it took me about 5-6 hours to make 2 bends.4 more still to go.

How are you welding this ? This stuff is light strong and really hard. It is a popular metal in jewellery and glasses frames these days.
Here is a neat trick :
Take a scrap piece and polish to a high shine, and then gently oxidise it (heat it with your oxy torch using an oxygen rich flame). It will start out
going straw colour, then through to orange, red, violet then an amazing bluish purple. Its an old Jeweller technique.

What's the go with the Titanium?
It's taken you such a long time to make these bends, just woundering what the real benefit is, when you could have gotten Stainless mandrels....

thanks for that steve.
it's because i can
stainless systems are heavy, around 10 -15 kg's heavier than titanium.
i will be running one ressy and one ofset centre and approx 1.5 metre's of bend and pipe.and guess what it is still lighter than one phat boy
muffler.
how cool is that.

there hasn't been much work done on the shiter lately, but i did put her on the scales to see how fat she is.
it came in at 774kg's,complete with full interior stereo, amps the works, full tank of gas aswell.
so we thought we would check out the pan's weight so far.
came in at 360 kg's.each wheel came in at 22 kg's each,
84 kg's of bling, what a waste.they will most definatly have to go for when racing.
the target weight is 600 kg's with driver?
is this possible,or am i nut's

after we had finished putting the guards on,we started on the wiring,
a little hint for when you have a car that is 40mm of the ground, assume you have done the wiring right and look else were for the problem of your
brake lights not working.it might just be that you have taken out the wiring on the master after running down small animals.proceed with caution.
i will take some pic's we i get her back on the ground.
