Will the car be able to be painted in it's original camel signage with the ciggie laws these days?

Camel toe racing?

Thanks mate, we are getting towards the end of our initial involvement with the resurrection of the Camel car now. Although not exactly era-correct, the base/clear system used will help with the longevity of this piece of history. We discussed the base/clear vs acrylic with Rod and decided in the end to go this way - it will also provide a more resilient surface during the mechanical rebuild which potentially could take quite some time. This way when the car comes back to us for the graphics, I just have to buzz it back and start on the desert-scene! (fortunately the original apron provides a perfect sample for colour matching after a light buff).
Cheers
AL

After a slight oversight on my behalf (was going from a black and white photo from the rear which suggested the silver to white fade at the rear was around the back window).....a colour photo revealed obviously I was wrong :)

No harm done, back in the booth and rectified today so the silver goes all the way down to the decklid.

The car will leave our workshop next week without graphics....once Dave, Rod and Pete are done on the mechanical/reassembly work, it will come back to the workshop for the yellow/orange detailing etc.

Camel Filter Bug to Attend Rocket Open Day and Rocket Retro Drags and Nitro Fest 19 & 20 November 2011
The thrash is on to get the Camel to this event and the Rocket Open day on the Saturday.
Peter Keegan is receiving a Pioneer Award over the weekend so we thought it would be
nice to have the car there . It won't be finished but will be looking good.
Pete Page and I will be bringing it down.
See you all there.
