The fink is one wild race. I built a commercial shed for a guy out on the Birdsville track that raced in the fink. He was on a 600cc (hypo) quad after breaking his femur the previous year.
That engine would go well in Tricia's kombi I think?? :crazy:

Thanks guys for the positive comments, looks like a real quality build so I am very happy with it, but unfortunately I've got plenty to do to get this thing together.
Damo and anyone else that is interested are more than welcome for a look and a dak dak chat, even a beer might be found, i'm up near Noosa, 1 1/2 hrs north of Bris. Funny I didn't see it on ebay, but yes, the guy, an old mate of mine, was also selling another buggy with G50, a arm front end and full tilt everything...the box alone owes him over $10k. My engine had a huge Hewland behind it.....mmmmmmmm :tu:

Wish I knew Dave, also valve sizes and cam spec are unknown to me. Found out last night that was originally a Fat Performance built package, which explains all the trick hardware.

Bonds engine was a FAT built engine also, its a 82x105 combo giving 2840, an 84x105 gives 2909 an 86 stroke is possible but a tight squeeze, bond's 82 stroke requires a reduced base circle cam when it comes time to build it. Matt you should find some Carillo's in that for sure and possibly a scat crank, bonds engine uses porsche 53mm rod journals, and could only find new rod bearings for that through Pelican Parts. Will you be doing a dissasembly for inspection purposes?

Them be big numbers Damo...he he.. I was told Scat crank and Pauter rods but I wont count on anything till I get a look first hand. I certainly wont mind a set of Carillos though.:D Did Bond's come from B Mac? If so it probably was also from the same guy before him.

I am tempted to pull it down for a look, but as it's only done a couple of hundred k's since a freshen, I'm going to concentrate on the rest of the build before opening it up. Got lots to do....
