Engine

Hey, while I have been waiting for the cage to be completed I have started ordering a lot of engine parts with Leon Motors and Rod Penrose.

Basically we are not building a 1916 with that turbo anymore. We are building a 2332 with a bigger turbo and flanged crank!
Should be fun anyway, I'll keep you posted.

Cheers Dave!

There are two bars that go from the cage to the horns that bolt in.

The cage is nearing completion and should be home in the next week or two!

Home at last! Plus some pics of the body being mounted. The front wheels are just too far apart for the small Manx front guards, so I removed the front end today, pulled it down and will be having it shortened 30mm on each side.

Today I also welded two more cross braces across the floor as per direction of the tech inspector. It was going good until I had to start notching it around the seat braces but I'm happy with how it turned out!

Cheers Dave!

Well, had a couple of busy days on the car and got a fair bit done. We have finished the gear shift and am just awaiting the 1/2 inch stainless fuel line to come in so I can run it through the tunnel before i weld the piece with my shifter attached to it back in. Today I picked up my front end which has been narrowed as far as we could and it might just be enough.
We also cut down the steering rods this afternoon and re machined the ends to take the tie rod locking nut taper and tapped the holes about 30mm deeper(the amount we cut off each rod and each side of the front end). It was back on it's wheels before I left Dad's, ready to do the steering column in the morning.

camera was flat today sorry.

Cheers Dave!

Always liked the look of a manx set up for drags. It'll be a rocket. Got some wheelie bars yet?

Hey guy's, I've Been very busy trying to get this car done and have slowly been making progress. We now have the body mounted apart from a few brackets here and there, plus we Finished mounting the gear box by making some custom brackets and welding them into the horns on the floor. Now all I have to do is make a couple of straps for over the top.

I also had D.B. fit the other side plate and thru bolts plus fit the axles up to the backing plates for me.

I have also ditched the disc brakes on the rear for some good old type three drums, they were much easier to have done if I have any chance of diving this thing at Warwick.

Here's some more pics and yes they are my new MH Slick's!

Cheers Dave!

Hey Guy's, Got another huge shipment off Rod today, Crank, Bearings, Flywheel, Lifters, Heads, Tappet covers, Turbo, Wastegate, Header, Holley carb, Intake, Billet slide pedals with master cyl's and clutch slave cyl.

On the engine front, not looking good for Warwick as Leon is having three weeks off starting next week and I head off to Europe in two weeks for 4 weeks landing home like a day before Warwick! Anyway it will still probably make an appearance and might just shake it down with the old 1641 yet???

Well I'm super tired after a big week on the car we even got the bonnet attached so that it hinges forward so couldn't be bothered with heaps of photo's so here's just a teaser.

Cheers Dave!
