Looking at that pic at ground level, rather then the grand stand, the rear suspension could do with a bit more stiffing up. Thats the info the driver
can't see.
Was also looking at putting a sensor on the input shaft to log, so I can tell the exact engine rpm to g/box rpm, on launch and throughout. Would be
good to see the difference when theres more heat (back to back runs)ect.
Alsow have travel sensors for the suspension, if needed later.

Your 'black book' of data will rival that of the Muffin Man's very shortly! You will need to develop a spreadsheet to record and analyse all the
data from the multitude of sensors you will have in place. Can't wait to see it with a bit more clutch fine tuning.

Hi Aaron,
Mate your Bus is the ultimate wolf in sheeps clothing. Awesome job.
Any chance you could describe how you keep that beast cool.
I've got a 74 Bay with a V6 Chev and I'm running A VL Turbo radiator mounted under the belly with twin fans and an electric pump.
It's fine around town, but gets a hot on the highway.
That 20b must be pumping out some serious heat. Any chance you could share your secrets?
Cheers

I've thought about that. I can get a 1996 993 Porsche tiptronic 5spd for $600, or have looked at the vw 010 but using 2 lots of planetary gears with
double drums and clutches.
I've got a spare vw 010 to try. The manual box is already out,,,,,,,oh ,,

Well back to the stick shift!!!
This is my new 2nd hand, 3 plate Tilton clutch from ebay
Top stock 13b turbo 9 1/2'' (all 20b's were auto)
Middle my latest, 8'' twin
Bottom new 7 1/4'' triple tilton
stock
Tilton
Removable diaphragm
7.6mm thiner in total than the twin and 1.3kg lighter
These are not the disck's that Im using, I've orderd new ones.
I'll make a plate that bolts to the f/wheel to take up the difference (7.6mm) and can be replaced insted of thinning the f/wheel.
Mabe an ally f/w is on the cards?

"Pre Warwick"
As usual the porsche box is striped with alot of new parts going in. All main bearings, 2nd gear dog teeth, 1st/2nd slider and hub, 2nd gear synchro,
another crown wheel and pinion, and redline 'heavy' shockproof oil.
The new tilton triple plate clutch is in and working great.
The whole fuel system is now changed with aeromotive mechanical fuel pump (belt driven), EFI reg, billet 100 micron filter, and 6x 1600cc injectors.
Now i can run E85 pump fuel.
Alsow I've made a 6 point cage, mounted other seats, and 2 sets of 4 point harnesses.
Changed the alternator bracket and ice box for the intercooler.
New braided brake lines for the front, (old ones were shagged), new rear brake pads and rotors.
I think thats it at the moment!!

Aaron with using the redline shock proof oil I have quite a few boys involved in circuit racing cars from the Toyota scene who used to use this and
thought it was great. But after a period of time it begins to glaze the synchros up and causes shifting issues. One of the guys I know who swore by it
used for about 6 months doing track days twice a month then noticed he started having issues with gear changes and thought it was the clutch on it's
way out. New clutch but nothing changed. So pulled box out and sent it to a gearbox specialist who stripped it and showed him all the synchroes were
glazed up with some form of coating which was the cause of the problem as everything else was good.(gears, bearings etc etc). New synchroes and no
shockproof redline but switched to royal purple and never had a drama since.
He let a few other guys I know about it and there was 2 other cars that had similiar issues. Both did the same thing with a rebuild and switched oil
and no more issues. Now whether or not this is just related to Toyota boxes or not I dunno but thought I'd let you know before putting it in and then
having to do more repairs later on cause I know you just love pulling this thing apart!! Bet you could just about do it with your eyes closed!! LOL
cheers Brennden

As I said Matt I have only heard and seen evidence in toyota transaxles and everyone of them was using the shockproof oil. Weird I know!!
Cage looks good mate!! Are you thinking of adding some bracing in the rear of the car as well? Torsion housing to chassis rails through body and
engine bay perhaps??
By seeing the pics of my cousins dual cab after his big accident there seems to be somewhat of a weaker point in the chassis around the front of the
torsion housing as the chassis kinked at that point in a frontal impact accident. Mind you he hit a VE commodore at 60km'hr with little to no braking
as they did and illegal turn in front of him.....

Thanks Brendon, good to know that i should look for synchro glaze when i pull it down again,.. thats right!! I am planning on pulling it down again
after Warwick just to check every thing, these are the things one has to do on a regular basis when putting more power through a transmission than is
designed for.
Even with a possible glazing problem, I will still use this oil just to try and save the crownwheel and pinion ($2200). Synchros are only $36
delivered.
Thanks for the heads up, ill keep you informed on the out come.
The rear stays are mounted to the torsion tubes about 50mm in from the chassis rails, The main reason for the cage is for my safty up front, And to
keep
it safer mostly on the street. It is getting blue plated this week end, i sent through photos as i went. The pipe is 4.2mm thick, which is over andra
specs.
Thanks Andrew, your right the tiles are finished, But as you know,
